Black Shark S3 Smartwatch Launched in Nepal with Curved AMOLED Screen

The authorized importer of Black Shark products in Nepal, MobileMandu, has brought the S3 smartwatch to the country.

The Black Shark S3 comes in at a budget price and delivers a slightly above budget experience, at least according to the spec sheet.

Black Shark S3 Overview

Design and Display

The design of the Black Shark S3 won’t surprise you. It features a basic circular metallic frame with two buttons—one of which rotates for navigation, while the other is a standard clickable button.

The display is a 1.43-inch 2.5D curved panel with a 60Hz refresh rate. For a watch, this should be enough for smooth visuals. Plus, the panel is AMOLED, so you can expect deep blacks and a crisp contrast ratio.

Not only that, the watch has a 466 x 466 pixel resolution with a sharp pixel density of 326 PPI. The only underwhelming aspect is the 600 nits brightness. While that’s more than enough for indoor use, you might need to squint when checking the watch under bright sunlight.

Magnetic Straps

The straps are quite unique—they use 31 N52M magnets to attach around your wrist, offering a clean, minimal look. These are strong neodymium magnets, so the fit is secure, at least its what Black Shark says.

It’s also super easy to put on and just as easy to take off—which is both a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, it’s incredibly convenient; on the other, someone could casually remove your watch without you even noticing.

And that’s not the only issue—the magnetic straps can come undone if they latch onto metal objects like keys or if enough force is applied. But more importantly, how well the strap holds depends on your wrist size.

If you have smaller wrists, more magnets connect, making the grip stronger and harder to pull off. But for larger wrists, fewer magnets align, weakening the hold—so even a light tug might accidentally unstrap the watch.

Health and Other Features

For health monitoring, the S3 can track heart rate, oxygen saturation, sleep status, and stress levels. According to Black Shark, it features 8-channel PPG monitoring, which apparently tracks these metrics faster and with more precision.

On the fitness side, the S3 supports 150+ sports modes, including swim tracking. It can even automatically detect running and walking, which is quite impressive for a budget smartwatch. It also comes with a 5ATM water resistance rating, making it suitable for water-based activities.

Connectivity and Battery

The Black Shark S3 runs on Bluetooth v5.3 and supports voice calling with ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation) for clear conversations. You can even manage up to 20 contacts directly from your wrist.

It also features a built-in five-system GNSS chip with receiver-independent satellite positioning, allowing you to track workouts accurately—no smartphone required.

You can use the CO FIT app to connect the Black Shark S3 to your smartphone. The app is available on both Apple’s AppStore and Google PlayStore

The S3 packs a respectable 500mAh battery, offering up to 15 days of usage on a full charge and up to 30 days on ultra-long standby. It charges via a magnetic pogo pin connector for added convenience.
