Legacy brand Motorola returned to the Nepali market with very solid offerings, such as the Edge 50 Fusion, the Moto G85, the Moto G64, and the Moto G45. During the launch event, the company announced that it had a few more devices up its launch pipeline, including the Moto G05.
And IT’S FINALLY HERE!
What is the price of the Motorola Moto G05 in Nepal?
The Motorola Moto G05 price in Nepal is Rs. 12,999 for the sole 4/64GB variant. It is available to purchase through all the Motorola-authorised retail and online stores across the country.
Given the phone’s already low price tag, there doesn’t seem to be any offers running. However, it’s still worth trying your luck with the retailer — you might be able to knock a few hundred rupees off the final price.
The Nepali smartphone market, which had been stagnant for some time now, has seen an exciting resurgence this year, across all price segments. Historic names like ZTE are making a comeback and competing at the sub-Rs.15,000 price category.
And now, Motorola has also entered the scene with its latest offering — the Moto G05! This is great news for customers, as these brands bring a qualitative edge to the segment, and reassurance of the name they have heard about and trust.
So, beyond its rich history and brand value, what does the Motorola Moto G05 have to offer? Let’s discuss!

Motorola Moto G05 Overview
Design
The Moto G05 comes in the staple Motorola design with an elevated camera island with a seamless finish. The phone is available in Forest Green and Plum Red colours, both of which have a vegan leather finish.
As such, it’s the only phone in its segment that doesn’t discriminate between its colour options. In contrast, other brands typically offer just one “hero” shade with faux leather, while the rest settle for standard plastic back panels.
Furthermore, the Moto G85 is IP54-rated for dust and water resistance and also enjoys a dual speaker setup.
Display
On the front, we are looking at a 6.7-inch display (or 6.67-inch depending on the source) protected with Gorilla Glass 3. It stretches 720 x 1,612 pixels, achieving HD+ resolution and a 263PPI pixel density.
The numbers aren’t particularly impressive, but that’s expected at this price tag. However, Motorola flaunts that the Moto G05 screen can hit a brightness of 1,000 nits, which is indeed high and rare for the price segment.
That said, the company is rather silent on the type of panel used or its refresh rate. However, considering that LCD is the norm in this range and 60Hz is the bare minimum, it’s safe to assume that the phone follows suit.
You also get Water Touch technology, which allows the screen to negate water droplets on it and offer undisturbed touch controls.

Hardware
Moving on to the hardware side of things, we get the MediaTek Helio G81 Extreme processor over here. Usually, suffixes like “Ultimate” and “Ultra” mean nothing in MediaTek’s catalogue, and it appears to be the case with the “Extreme” too. I could not pinpoint anything different from the regular G81.
Other than that, we get 4 gigs of RAM and 64GB storage on the Moto G05, with support for up to 12GB of memory extension via RAM Boost and storage expansion up to 1TB through a microSD card. There is also a higher variant of the phone, but since it isn’t available for the Nepali audience, it isn’t all that relevant.
Motorola has stuffed the Moto G05 with a decently beefy 5,200mAh non-removable cell as the power source. It also supports 18W of fast charging, pretty standard at this price range.
Camera and OS
For cameras, we get a single snapper on the back, even though two cutouts might have you believe otherwise. The second cutout is actually occupied by an ambient light sensor, which is responsible for the auto-brightness function. It does not have anything to do with imaging, really.
Which is somewhat better than slapping a useless decorative lens, I guess?
The rear 50MP sensor is capable of 30FPS video recording at FHD (1080p) resolution. The 8MP shooter on the front is also capable of the same.
Software-wise, the Moto G05 boots on Android 15, making it one of a kind in this segment. The only other phone with Android 15 is the Redmi A5, but it is the Go version. So, you get the full-fledged experience with the Motorola offering.
Moreover, the OS in this price range are usually plagued with ads and bloatware. However, that is not the case for the Moto G05, which I think is the best thing about the phone.

Motorola Moto G05 | Price in Nepal |
---|---|
4/64GB | Rs. 12,999 |
The Moto G05 is an entry-level offering from the historic brand Motorola. While it has a handful of good things going for it, the lack of a fluid 120Hz refresh rate stands out as a noticeable caveat. However, the ad and bloatware-free, clean software experience it offers feels like a fair trade-off — at least in my book.
