The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE, the successor to the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE, is launching soon in Nepal.

In keeping with their trend of offering a more affordable option, Samsung recently announced the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE, a budget-friendly version of this year’s flagship, the Samsung Galaxy S24.

On the specs side, it’s packing a modified Exynos 2400 processor, a 120Hz AMOLED display, a 50MP main camera, and a 4700mAh battery.

Design

This time too, Samsung has opted to refine the design instead of launching something completely new with the Galaxy S24 FE. It features the same old glass sandwich design, complete with an aluminum midframe like the S23 FE, and is rated IP68 dust and water-resistant.

On the back, you can see the familiar triple-camera setup arranged vertically, with the lenses slightly protruding from the uniform-colored Gorilla Glass 5 panel. The Samsung logo sits neatly at the bottom center, printed in a slightly darker shade than the background.

The side rails are flat and have a matte finish to them. Here you’ll find the volume and power buttons on the right side, while the USB-C port and speaker grille are at the bottom.

Display

In the display department, the S24 FE features a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display that has a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. Comparing this to its predecessor’s 6.4-inch panel, The S24 FE’s panel is a bit larger but at the cost of lower pixel density.

This panel has a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz and supports HDR10+ content. The screen can reach a peak brightness of 1900 nits in bright conditions, and it’s protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+, which also covers the optical fingerprint sensor. 

Hardware

Powering the S24 FE is an Exynos 2400e processor. The 4nm chip has an Xclipse 940 GPU onboard, based on AMD’s RDNA 2 architecture, to handle the phone’s graphics.

One impressive feature of this GPU is its ability to support hardware-accelerated ray tracing and variable rate shading (VRS), which enhances your visual experience.

Getting into details, the 10-core processor has 1x 3.1 GHz prime core, 2x 2.9 GHz high-performance cores, 3x 2.6 GHz performance cores, and 4x 1.95 GHz efficiency cores. Accompanying the processor is an 8GB RAM coupled with either 128 or 256GB of internal storage.

Camera

The cameras in the S24 FE are pretty much the same as those in its predecessor. The main 50MP lens features dual-pixel PDAF and OIS. while the accompanying 8MP telephoto lens offers 3x optical zoom, complete with PDAF and its own OIS as well. You also get a 12MP ultrawide camera with a 123˚ field of view to complete the setup.

On the front, there is a 10MP f/2.4 camera for taking selfies and video calls. Talking about video, the main camera is capable of recording up to 8K at 30fps and the front camera can record up to 4K at 60fps.

Battery and OS

The S24 FE is powered by a 4700mAh battery that supports 25W wired charging with PD and QC2. It also offers 15W wireless charging and reverse wireless charging as well.

The S24 FE runs on One UI 6.1, which is built on Android 14. Samsung says that the company will offer an impressive 7 years of OS and security updates for this phone.

Besides that, it also comes packed with Galaxy AI features. You’ll find things like Circle to Search, Sketch to Image, Interpreter, and Live Translation, among others in the Galaxy S24 FE.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE price hasn’t been officially revealed in Nepal yet. But like its predecessor, it is expected to launch at a more premium price of Rs. 95,000 (8/256GB).

Once launched, the phone will be available for purchase on Samsung-authorized retail stores and online e-commerce sites across Nepal.

In all essence, the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is a flagship phone with excellent specifications and set of features. The only caveat is that it does fall short compared to its more powerful and older sibling, the Galaxy S24.

The main purpose of the S24 FE is to fill the gap between Samsung’s flagship and its premium midrange devices. The other goal of the S24 FE is to provide the experience of using the Galaxy S24 and its other variants at a more budget-friendly price.
