Tecno Spark 30c with a 50MP Camera Now in Nepal

Shortly after the launch of the Spark 20c, Techno launched its successor, the Tecno Spark 30c in Nepal.

The Tecno Spark 30c maintains the affordable price point of its predecessor and includes specs that you’d expect from phones in the entry to lower-midrange price category. The phone has an IPS LCD display, a MediaTek processor, a 50MP main camera, and a 5000mAh battery.

Tecno Spark 30c Overview

Design

The Tecno Spark 30c comes with two body options: vegan leather (Magic Skin 3.0) or plastic for the white and black versions. The back features a large center-aligned ring around the camera and flash, resembling a point-and-shoot camera.

The device has flat side rails that provide a comfortable grip. On the right side, you’ll find the physical controls, including the power/fingerprint button and the volume rocker. The 3.5mm jack is located on the top, while the USB-C port is at the bottom. Both the Magic Skin 3.0 as well as the plastic body variants are rated IP54 dust and water-resistant.

Display

The main interface of the phone, the display, is a hole-punch IPS LCD panel that has a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels on a diagonal area of 6.67 inches. This gives the panel a pixel density of 263ppi.

In terms of brightness, Tecno hasn’t put out any official numbers but by comparing similar specced displays of phones at this price range, we can expect the panel to produce a maximum brightness of around 500nits.

These specs look rather run-of-the-mill but what’s impressive is that the panel is capable of achieving a smooth refresh rate of up to 120Hz while operating. However, we still have to test if the refresh rate is limited to select apps or if it extends to all apps and games.

Hardware

For hardware, the phone comes with MediaTek’s new octa-core Helio G81 processor. The 12nm chip has (2x 2.0 GHz Cortex-A75 and 6x 1.7 GHz Cortex-A55) cores and a Mali G52 GPU for processing your apps and games.

The phone comes with either 6 or 8GB of RAM that’s extendable and 128 or 256GB of storage respectively. The phone also supports microSD card expansion for added storage.

Cameras

For a budget phone, the Spark 30c comes with quite a high-resolution 50MP main camera on the rear. The camera supports PDAF and HDR photography.

Besides that, there is an 8MP front camera for selfies and making video calls. Both the front and the rear cameras are capable of recording videos as well.

Battery and OS

In terms of battery, the phone packs a 5000mAh cell that charges via a USB-C port at a maximum rate of 18W. Tecno promises that the battery will retain almost 80% of its charge capacity even after more than 1000 charge cycles.

The software on this phone is Tecno’s own custom skin that’s running on top of Android 14. Tecno states that the software will run ‘lag-free’ even after 4 years of usage.

Tecno Spark 30c Price in Nepal and Availability

The Tecno Spark 30c price in Nepal is Rs. 16,490 (6/128GB) and Rs. 19,990 (8/256GB). It is available in online e-commerce stores and physical retailers across Nepal.

The Tecno Spark 30c features a 120Hz IPS LCD display, a MediaTek Helio G81 processor, a 50MP main camera, and a good 5000mAh battery. It continues the trend of providing affordable smartphones by offering devices that have specifications typical of entry-level devices and competes with devices like the Samsung Galaxy A06, Honor X6b, and the Redmi 14C.
