ZTE Blade A35e Overview
Design
The ZTE Blade A35e comes with a polycarbonate frame—essentially a plastic build. On the back, it features a linear camera module accompanied by an LED flash positioned right next to it.
On the bottom, there is a USB-C port, a mono-speaker, and a 3.5mm jack. The volume rocker and the power button are on the right side, which has a unique bright red color, a signature of ZTE smartphones. The phone has a dual SIM card tray included with a microSD slot.
The phone comes in two color variants: Galactic Gray and Lake Green.
Display
On the front, you will see a 6.52-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 576 pixels. The screen size is fine for everyday use, but the SD resolution brings the pixel density down to 215 ppi. That means you might notice some pixelation, especially when viewing images or text up close.
The bezel on the bottom of the screen is especially thick than the rest of the phone. On top, you’ll find a waterdrop notch that evolves into Live Island for notifications, reminders, and real-time activities such as calls and messages. This feature is essentially similar to Apple’s Dynamic Island.
The thicker bezels and the water-drop notch are common in this price range. But phones like the Tecno Spark Go 1, which only cost slightly more than the A35e, offer a higher refresh rate, thinner bezels, and a punch-hole notch.
Camera
The Blade A35e has a dual-camera setup with an 8MP main camera and a 0.8MP secondary camera. For selfies, you will find a 5MP front camera.
Hardware
Under the hood, the Blade A35e has a UNISOC SC9863A processor with 28nm transistors. It is an entry-level processor that sits near the bottom of the tier list for mobile processors on the market, with four Cortex-A55 cores and four Cortex-A55 cores.
For graphics, it uses the PowerVR GE8322.
The Blade A35e is equipped with 2GB RAM. Along with this, you will also find virtual RAM, upgrading the memory capacity. There is 64GB internal storage, and if that is not enough, you can use the extra microSD card slot. The maximum supported capacity is still unknown at this time.
Battery and Software
The ZTE Blade A35e is powered by a massive 5,000mAh battery and charges via USB Type-C. ZTE has not disclosed the charging wattage, though it is expected to be the standard 10W.
Lastly, on to the software side, the Blade A35e runs on Android 14 (Go edition) out of the box.
