CG Motors Planning to Introduce Ola S1 Pro Electric Scooter in Nepal

Ola S1 Pro and Ola S1 are coming soon to Nepal.

CG Motors, the authorized distributor of Ola scooters in Nepal, is planning to introduce its first electric scooter in Nepal.

Ola is a global brand that began as a startup in Bangalore, India.

It is India’s largest mobility platform and one of the largest ride-hailing companies. Interestingly enough, the company is building India’s sportiest electric car and 1GW battery power delivering grid services.

There are plans underway to launch both Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro Pro alongside one another at the NADA EV Show 2022.

Both scooters feature similar design aesthetics. However, there is a difference in battery capacity, top speed, and color options.

Ola S1 Pro will sit above the Ola S1. Hence, the Ola S1 Pro price in Nepal will likely be above Rs. 3.50 Lakhs to Rs. 4.00 Lakhs.

Ola S1 Pro Overview

Design

Ola S1 Pro gets a mix of minimalistic and futuristic styling.

It sports a unique Twin-LED Headlamp with a circular DLR. Moreover, the side LED indicators are integrated within the apron.

The “Fluid Design” theme is inspired by a uni-body styling with prominent creases.

Moving to the rear profile, the rear tail light is also LED. 

The scooter gets mono-colored panels all around. Moreover, the suspension is neatly hidden with a blacked-out cover.

Similarly, the alloy wheels sport a unique design to keep up with aesthetics.

Unlike other scooters, Ola has chosen to keep things simple. Hence, the S1 Pro has garnered a German Design Award in 2020.

Ola S1 Pro has included practical features as well.

It includes a nifty split-type grab rail, flush side step, and sculpted seat.

Additionally, Ola S1 Pro will be available in 10 different colors: Gray, Red, Yellow, Pink, Black, Silver, White, Mint Blue, Matt Black, and Matt Blue.

Both S1 Pro and S1 have the same styling. However, the S1 Pro is available in five new colors.

Performance

Ola S1 Pro is powered by the 8.5kW Ola Hyperdrive Motor. It generates a peak power of 8.5kW and a peak torque of 58Nm, capable of 116Kmph top speed.

S1 Pro includes four modes: Eco, Normal, Sport, and Hyper.

It gets a 4kWh Hyperdrive Battery with 6.5 hours average charging time. Furthermore, the full charge should provide a claimed range of 170km to 180km. 

Moreover, it comes with Ola’s proprietary Battery Management System for optimal durability, performance, range, and safety.

In addition to that, other performance features include Cruise Control, Low Center of Gravity, Reverse Mode, and Hill Hold.

Again, the spec sheet is very familiar between the siblings. However, the S1 Pro sports a 1kW larger battery pack, enhancing its range and top speed.

Additional Details

Ola S1 Pro gets 12-inch 110/70-section tyres. It includes a Dual-Disc Braking configuration with Combined Braking System.

The front Single Fork and a rear Mono Shock handle suspension duties.

The dimensions are 1859mm in length, 712mm in width, and 1160mm in height. And, the wheelbase sits at 1359mm.

Ola S1 Pro comes with 165mm of ground clearance. Moreover, the kerb weight is 125kg.

Interestingly enough, S1 Pro also features a 36-liters of under-seat storage.

Ola S1 Pro Price in Nepal and Availability

Talking about the price, the Ola S1 Pro price in Nepal is expected to be above Rs. 3.50 Lakhs. It will be available in a single variant.

Unfortunately, there are no confirmed details on its price or availability. However, it is expected to be showcased at the NADA EV Show 2022.

CG Motors has faced strong criticism over its Neta V pricing. Hence, few people are worried about the introductory pricing of the upcoming S1 Pro and S1.

Hopefully, the company manages a good balance between profit and affordability.

On the other hand, there were reports of battery overheating and software issues on Ola scooters. It will be interesting to see those issues makes their way into Nepal as well.
