Nepal Telecom Claims 62% of Voice Market Share

According to the recent reports, Nepal Telecom(NT)‘s voice users reached 62.13 percent. NT claims that 62 out of 100 voice users of Nepal are its subscribers.

The number of NT subscribers increased by 17.23 to 17.6 million at the end of 2074 BS. In the previous year, it had 15 million subscribers.

The usage of data service and Internet users has also increased. The number of subscribers using data services has increased by 2.53 percent. The number of Internet users also had a rise of 10.76 percent and has reached 8.4 million.

The company’s net profit also increased in the last fiscal year. The total net profit is 13.11 higher to last year. The company gas also reduced its expenses, while posting revenue growth.

NT is planning to introduce Chinese Internet within a month. They have already signed an agreement with China Telecommunication Company for international Internet service via optical fiber.

The ‘WoW Time’ TV streaming app developed by NT has received more than 50,000 subscribers within three days.
