Apple MacBook Pro 2019 Overview
Build and Design
Apple has kept the design of the 13-inch MacBook Pro the same for years. It looks elegant and premium with a solid unibody aluminum chassis. But, it does have chunky bezels unlike new laptops of 2020.
The 13-inch Macbook Pro is as minimal as it comes. There are two Thunderbolt 3 ports on the left side and a headphone jack on the left.
You can charge the laptop via one of the Thunderbolt 3 port and use the other one for peripherals. But the new 2019 model with 2.4Ghz i5 processor does come with 4 Thunderbolt 3 ports.
Then we get dual speakers that flank the keyboard and for as long as we know, these have been the best speakers on any laptops.
The 2019 Macbook Pro has the 4th-gen Butterfly keyboard which somewhat fixes the reliability problems that the keyboards of previous 13-inch MacBook Pro suffered.
About the touchpad, it is large and works well as all of the previous MacBook Pro’s.
Touch ID and Touch Bar
Touch ID sensor and Touch Bar made their way to entry-level 13-inch MacBook Pro since 2019. Touch ID makes it easy to unlock your Mac with a single press without needing to enter a password.
Touch bard could be interesting or a gimmick for you based on your preferences. But, you no longer have the option to save a bit of money and go for a model without the Touch Bar on 2019 versions.
It includes a 13.3-inch IPS Retina display with a 2560 x 1600 resolution, along with P3 color gamut support which is essential for accurate colors for photographers and digital creatives. It also comes with Apple’s True Tone technology which alters the colors of the display according to the ambient light you’re working in.
The 13-inch MacBook Pro 2019 boasts an impressive 500 nits brightness and has one of the most color-accurate displays on a laptop.
First thing you should know that there are 4 configurations of 13-inch Macbook Pro.
The base 13-inch MacBook Pro comes with a 1.4GHz quad-core 8th generation Intel Core i5 processor, Intel Iris Plus Graphics 645, 8GB 2133MHz LPDDR3 memory and 128GB SSD storage, and costs Rs. 1,65,000. The same model with 256GB storage goes for Rs. 1,78,000.
Then there’s a high-end version with a more powerful 2.4GHz quad-core 8th gen i5 processor which costs Rs. 2,25,000 (256GB) and Rs. 2,38,000 (512GB) respectively.
Well, we don’t even need to talk about performance as you are buying MacBook for anything except gaming and it does those things smoothly.
The 13-inch MacBook Pro 2019 comes with a 58.2 watt-hour battery. The battery on this thing can last about 10 hours during normal usage. So, it’s more than good for colleges and offices. You don’t even need to carry a charging brick.
However, there are other ultraportable Windows laptops with more battery life.
The latest version of macOS is 10.15 known as macOS Catalina.
There have been some changes from the previous version which is known as Mojave (10.14). Apple has eliminated the iTunes app and is now split into three apps: Music, Podcasts, and TV.
Then there a new sidecar feature that lets you turn your iPad into a display for your Mac. macOS Catalina also steps up the security in macOS. Apple’s security protocol named Gatekeeper checks all your apps for known security issues. New data protections also require apps to get your permission before accessing the documents.
