The iPhone 15 Pro, the pro model of the iPhone 15 series has been announced. Apple hosted the Wonderlust event on Sep 12, 2023, where they announced the new iPhone 15 series with their other products.

What is the Price of the iPhone 15 Pro in Nepal?

The iPhone 15 Pro price in Nepal is expected to start from Rs. 1,84,999 (128GB), Rs. 2,06,999 (256GB), Rs. 2,24,999 (512GB) and Rs. 2,49,999 (1TB). The phone is stated to be available from Sep 22, 2023. You can buy it at retail stores across the country after the launch.

iPhone 15 Pro Overview

Design

The iPhone 15 Pro looks pretty much the same as its elder sibling, the 15 Pro Max. It is however a bit lighter and smaller in size. The camera module on the back is identical for the most part as well. The Pro also doesn’t feature the 5X lens that’s on the Pro Max.

It features the same titanium build with matte glass we saw on the more expensive 15 Pro Max. The front is also protected by Ceramic Shield and the phone itself is IP68 rated.

Comparing it to the last gen’s iPhone 14 Pro, the overall design philosophy remains unchanged, however, the phone is significantly lighter, 206 gm vs 187gm, while adding thickness to the body.

There’s also the all-new action button: a programmable button that replaces the alert slider on the phone and can do much more than just change the ring state of the phone.

Display

The phone comes with a 6.1-inch LTPO OLED display. It’s one of those Super Retina OLEDs with a resolution of 1179×2556 with a super sharp 460ppi and also refreshes at 120Hz. The display also supports HDR10 and Dolby Vision with a peak brightness level of up to 2000nits in Outdoors, Apple claims.

Other features include a fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating with True Tone and P3 Wide color capabilities. It still features the Always-On display and the dynamic island is here to stay.

Hardware

Enter the new A17 Pro chip: the first “pro” chip Apple has produced. It’s also the first 3nm based chip made available.

The six-core CPU is now up to 10% faster and raytracing performance has also improved over the A16 Bionic. Apple claims it’s the fastest ray tracing performance in a smartphone.

Apple really seems to be making a big leap with this chipset while the rest of the industry plays catchup.

The phone comes in 4 storage options: 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.

Camera

The iPhone 15 Pro features a triple camera setup. A 48 MP f/1.8 main sensor with a 12MP f/2.8 3X telephoto, and a 12MP, f/2.2 120˚ ultrawide.

They also introduced their Photonic Engine which makes significant changes in the way iPhone captures images now allowing for portraits to be Live photos and also shift focus after the shot has been taken.

The night mode also benefits from the new engine and the camera system is still one of the best on any phone. There’s no 8K video recording but you do get 4K@60fps videos with ProRes.

The front has a 12MP f1.9 camera and can shoot up to 4K@60fps videos.

Battery and OS

Apple hasn’t specified the capacity of the battery but made claims that the phone can last up to 29 hours of Video playback.

As before, the phone supports MagSafe wireless charging up to 15W and Qi wireless charging up to 7.5W. Apple also claims that with a 20W adapter (sold separately), you can get a 50% charge in 30 minutes. Also, if you didn’t know, the iPhone now uses a USB Type C.

The iPhone 15 series is the latest phone of the trillion-dollar company Apple. The Pro model of the series features a triple camera system with a 3x optical telephoto lens. The phones finally use a USB Type-C to meet EU norms.
