What is the Price of HMD Crest Max 5G in Nepal?
The HMD Crest Max 5G price in Nepal has been bumped to Rs. 23,999 for the sole 8/256GB variant. With smartphone prices rising across the board, it was only a matter of time before HMD adjusted its pricing as well. Given the current market trend, I was actually expecting a price hike of more than Rs. 1,000, but HMD surprised me by limiting the increase to just Rs. 1,000.
The phone goes for INR 16,499 in India, which converts to over Rs. 26,500 Nepali rupees. And just like the HMD Crest, the Max is still cheaper in Nepal compared to its Indian Counterpart, thanks to TeleTalk, the official distributor of HMD phones.
HMD Crest Max 5G brings welcome additions like a better camera setup with ultrawide and macro lenses, plus more RAM and storage—all for a slightly higher price. But can it still stand out in the competitive budget segment?
Let’s dive into the specs and find out.

HMD Crest Max 5G Overview
Design
The HMD Crest Max shares the exact same design language as the original Crest—with a flat frame, flat display, and a subtly curved back. It seems the Max variant is built on the same chassis.

The only visible change is a third camera added to the squircle camera island above the flash. It’s IP52-rated for basic dust and splash resistance and comes in three eye-catching colors: Deep Purple, Aqua Green, and Royal Pink.
Unfortunately, the Nepali market only gets the Deep Purple variant.
Repairability
Just like the HMD Crest, the Crest Max carries forward HMD’s user-friendly, repairable design. That means you can easily replace components like the screen, charging port, battery, and back panel yourself—no need to visit a repair shop or be a pro.
HMD’s website has the phone’s repair guide, and they sell replacement parts and kits independently. However, these kits haven’t made their way to Nepal yet and likely won’t be available anytime soon.
Display
There’s not much of a change in the display department. The HMD Crest Max still rocks a 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED panel with a 1080 x 2400 resolution—identical to the regular Crest. But at this price, an OLED screen is still a standout feature.
Despite featuring an OLED panel that supports under-display fingerprint sensors, HMD has opted for a side-mounted fingerprint sensor on the power button, likely to keep the design more repair-friendly.
Hardware
The HMD Crest Max carries over the same UNISOC T760 processor as its predecessor, built on a 6nm process. It’s a capable 5G-ready chip that holds its own against the Helio G99.
What’s new is the upgraded memory: 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, which hits a solid balance for most users. Plus, there’s a microSD slot for up to 256GB of extra storage, which is on the lower end, but the total storage of more than 500GB should be enough for average users.
Fueling the phone is a 5,000mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging—pretty standard, but reliable.
Cameras and OS

The HMD Crest Max steps up its camera game with a 64MP main sensor, joined by a 5MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro lens—two additions that were missing on the standard Crest. On the front, there’s a 50MP selfie camera that also supports face scanning.
The main camera on the HMD Crest, despite being a 50MP lens, was only decent. Let’s hope the 64MP main sensor does a better job than its smaller sibling.
It also packs some handy features like hands-free selfie capture, making it more user-friendly for content creators and casual users alike.
On the software side, it runs Android 14 out of the box and promises quarterly security updates for two years. Sadly, it looks like there won’t be any major Android version upgrades.
HMD Crest Max 5G Price in Nepal and Availability
The HMD Crest Max 5G price in Nepal is Rs. 23,999 (8/256GB). Just like its smaller sibling, the HMD Crest Max also got a Rs. 1,000 price bump and is available at retail and online stores nationwide.
| HMD Crest Max 5G | Price in Nepal |
|---|---|
| 8/256GB | Rs. |
The HMD Crest Max 5G builds on the already solid foundation of the HMD Crest 5G, offering higher RAM, storage, and a more versatile camera setup with the addition of ultrawide and macro lenses.
While the upgrades are impressive, the pricing still makes it an obvious choice under Rs. 25,000. The phone can even compete head-on against phones in the under Rs. 30,000 segment.
