We all can agree that there are times when more than 10 open tabs on Google Chrome is a necessity. When this happens, it becomes a mess and it gets irritating when you’re trying to figure out which tabs which.
Well, we won’t need to slide through those tiny tabs anymore. After, testing out for several months Google has come up with a new “tab groups” feature for Google Chrome.
As the name suggests, you can group similar tabs under whatever name you like so that you can easily identify the tabs.
For now, this feature is only available in the beta version of Chrome. It will make it’s way to the stable version starting next week.

Not only you can group tabs, but you can also customize them using various labels and colors. After grouping tabs, you can reorder the groups too. So, if you like to be super organized, now you can!
The tab groups are customizable and you can decide how to use them. And just like regular tabs, your groups are saved when you close and reopen Chrome.
Though it’s in beta version people have already started using this feature. In a blog post, Google mentioned that people are grouping their tabs by how urgent they are– “ASAP”, “this week” and “later”.
Furthermore, there’s a pro tip, use emojis! Yes, you can be creative and use emojis to label the group tabs too.

As most of us are working from home these days. We are trying to find a balance between work and entertainment. And, that ultimately leads to multiple open tabs, am I right? Thus, this new feature will come in really handy for moments like these. You can easily switch between work and play with the tab groups.
Tab groups will be available for Chrome on desktop across Chrome OS, Windows, Mac, and Linux. If you can’t wait, it’s available in the latest version of Google Chrome Beta.
