ASUS Zephyrus G16 Overview
Design
ASUS is sticking with last year’s design, featuring a distinctive diagonal slash that runs across the front of the lid. A series of slits line runs through the length of this design accent, which lights up thanks to a row of LEDs underneath, adding a subtle but striking gaming element.
The laptop is impressively thin at just 15-17mm—or should I say thin—giving it more of a sleek notebook vibe than a typical gaming laptop. In my book, that’s a great choice.
The top panel is made of aluminum, making it less prone to fingerprints. The chassis is also crafted from a single block of aluminum—something quite uncommon in gaming laptops. While this choice drives up production costs, it results in a clean and premium aesthetic.
The keyboard carries over the same design as the previous generation of the G16, with speakers flanking either side. The keys offer a 1.7mm travel distance, and the power button features a glass finish for an added touch of refinement.
The laptop also boasts a spacious touchpad, providing smooth and effortless control.
Display
The Zephyrus G16, as the name suggests, features a standard 16-inch 2.5K OLED display with a 16:10 aspect ratio.
The new OLED display brings deep blacks, vibrant colors, and stunning contrast, making it a significant visual upgrade. It also supports NVIDIA G-Sync, which helps eliminate screen tearing and reduces stutter during gaming sessions.
Personally, I believe OLED panels offer the best visual experience for gaming. However, they do come with some drawbacks—most notably the risk of screen burn-in and image retention.
That said, the display still shines in many areas. It has a MUX switch that allows the laptop to route frames from dGPU directly to the display, which improves performance by 5-10%. It also boasts up to 500 nits of brightness, covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, and is Dolby Vision certified—making it an excellent choice for both immersive entertainment and creative work.
Processor
Powering the Zephyrus G16 is the Intel Core Ultra 9 285H— Series 2 Intel Core Ultra processor. It packs a total of 16 cores and 16 threads, including 6 performance cores, 8 efficient cores, and 2 low-power efficient cores.
The CPU clocks in with a base frequency of 2.9GHz and can turbo boost up to an impressive 5.4GHz. Graphics are handled by the integrated Intel Arc 140V GPU, featuring a max dynamic frequency of 2.35GHz.
What truly sets this chip apart is its built-in Intel AI Boost NPU, capable of delivering up to 13 TOPS (trillions of operations per second).
Hardware
The Zephyrus G16 includes 32GB of soldered LPDDR5X RAM running in dual-channel at 7467MHz, which is sufficient for gaming and multitasking for at least a couple of years. There’s also a 64GB version available for users who need more memory, whether for gaming or other demanding tasks.
In Nepal, the Zephyrus G16 is available with NVIDIA’s RTX 5070 Ti. This GPU is capable of handling 1440p gaming comfortably, and can also run games at 4K resolution especially since it supports DLSS 4. Although RTX 5060, 5080, and 5090 versions of the G16 are available in other markets, they are not currently available in Nepal.
For cooling, the laptop uses a three-fan system, referred to by ASUS as “Tri-Fan” technology. Instead of a standard thermal paste, ASUS uses Liquid Metal on the CPU, which, according to the company, can reduce temperatures by up to 13°C. Combined with a vapor chamber cooling system, this setup helps keep the RTX 5070 Ti and Intel Core Ultra 9 processor running efficiently under load.
Ports and Connectivity
The Zephyrus G16 comes with a total of seven ports. It includes two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port that supports both DisplayPort and power delivery, and one Thunderbolt 4 port, which also supports DisplayPort and power delivery. In addition, there’s an SD card reader, an HDMI 2.1 port, and a 3.5mm combo audio jack.
For wireless connectivity, the laptop features Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. It also includes an IR sensor next to the 1080p webcam for facial recognition, with support for Windows Hello login.
Battery
The ASUS Zephyrus G16 is equipped with a 90Wh lithium-ion battery, using a standard 4-cell configuration commonly found in gaming laptops.
For charging, it comes with a 200W AC adapter. Additionally, the laptop supports USB Type-C and Thunderbolt charging with up to a 100W power source, offering more flexibility for lighter workloads or on-the-go charging.

Zephyrus G16 | Rs. 4,78,900 |
The ASUS Zephyrus G16 sits in the high-end segment, offering a premium package with its thin aluminum build, OLED display, RTX 4070 Ti GPU, and Intel Core Ultra 9 Series 2 processor. Delivering this level of performance while maintaining a compact and lightweight profile is an impressive feat.
However, compact builds often come with thermal challenges. That said, the inclusion of a triple-fan setup, vapor chamber cooling, and the use of liquid metal as the thermal compound helps the G16 make a strong case for maintaining efficient thermal performance despite its slim form factor.
