Apple iPad Pro M4 with Tandem OLED Display Now Available in Nepal

Apple’s top-of-the-line iPad, the iPad Pro, recently launched globally with an upgraded processor and a redesigned chassis. It is now available for purchase in Nepal.

What is the Price of the Apple iPad Pro M4 in Nepal?

The Apple iPad Pro M4 price in Nepal starts from Rs. 1,75,000 (256GB) to Rs. 3,50,000 (2TB) for the 11-inch variant. Whereas, the 13-inch model starts at Rs. 2,27,000 (256GB) and goes up to Rs. 3,99,000 (2TB).

The abovementioned prices are for the Wi-Fi-only variants and do not reflect the price of the iPad Pro M4 with cellular connectivity.

The new iPad Pro features Apple’s latest M4 series processor and is equipped with a Tandem OLED display, all in a very thin chassis. The camera setup, however, has been downgraded this time by the removal of the ultrawide lens.

Apple iPad Pro M4 Overview

Design

The iPad Pro M4 is the thinnest Apple product ever featuring a stunningly thin and light design. The 11-inch model is just 5.3mm thin, and the 13-inch model is even thinner at a striking 5.1mm.

Other than that, the overall design of the iPad Pro M4 closely resembles the previous pro models, with a large screen surrounded by a thin bezel that is encased in a monotone metal unibody.

The chassis is made of aluminum that has antennae lines on top and bottom. It has rounded corners and edges which help in easy carrying and handling.

On the rear, you’ll find the Apple logo in the center along with smart connectors just below it. There is a camera island in the top left corner that houses the main camera, flash module, the LiDAR sensor, and an ambient light sensor.

On the left of the camera island are the volume buttons, and below that there is a magnetic strip where you can attach a stylus like an Apple Pencil. Alongside there are quad speakers for audio and finally, on the top, you’ll find the power button.

Display

The new iPad Pro debuts the Ultra Retina XDR featuring start-of-the-art tandem OLED technology that uses two OLED panels for higher full-screen brightness.

The new iPad Pro supports 1000 nits of full-screen brightness for SDR and HDR content, and 1600 nits peak for HDR. The M4 iPad Pro comes in two display sizes: 11 inches and 13 inches.

The panel has a resolution of 2420 x 1668 pixels in the 11-inch model and 2752 x 2064 pixels in the 13-inch model.

Additionally, the display also comes with Apple’s ProMotion variable refresh rate (10Hz and 120Hz), True Tone, and stylus input.

Hardware

Moving onto the hardware, the tablet is now powered by Apple’s new 3nm M4 processor. The processor comes in two variants depending on your storage configuration.

If you opt for the 256/512GB model, the iPad will come with a 9-core CPU (3 performance cores, 6 efficiency cores) whereas if you go for the 1/2TB variant, the iPad Pro will have a 10-core (4 performance cores, 6 efficiency cores) CPU. Handling the graphics is a 10-core processor in both variants.

Compared to the previous M2-powered iPad Pro, the M4 models offer notably faster performance, with up to 1.5 times faster CPU speed and a 4 times improvement in Pro rendering performance. The neural engine inside the iPad is also the most powerful yet, performing up to 38 TOPS.

In terms of storage, the iPad Pro comes in the following configurations: 8/256GB, 8/512GB, 16GB/1TB, and 16GB/2TB.

Camera

This time around, the cameras in the Apple iPad Pro M4 have taken a backseat. In fact, they have been downgraded with the removal of the 10MP ultrawide lens from the iPad Pro M2.

The 2024 iPad Pro M4 comes with just one 12MP main camera and an ultrawide 12MP TrueDepth front camera. The front camera supports FaceID as well as Center Stage video calling.

In terms of recording, the rear camera can record videos up to 4K at 60fps while the front camera can record videos up to 1080p at 60fps.

Battery and OS

The iPad Pro M4 11-inch version includes a 31.29Wh battery, while the larger 13-inch model houses a 38.99Wh battery. Charging is provided by a 20W USB-C charger.

Both models offer up to 10 hours of web surfing or video watching over Wi-Fi, as per Apple. When using a cellular data network on Wi-Fi + Cellular models, the battery supports up to 9 hours of web surfing.

Regarding software, the iPad comes with iPadOS 17 out of the box.
