Khalti, a mobile wallet, payment gateway, and service provider, has partnered with Kathmandu Metropolitan City for the digitization of its revenue collection.

This enables taxpayers to easily pay the rental tax, property tax, and business tax of Kathmandu Metropolitan City through Khalti digital wallet.
This service was previously available through the taxpayer website of Kathmandu Metropolitan City and now Khalti has provided the service on the app itself, making the payment more easier and seamless.
Speaking further about the service, Binay Khadka, the chief executive officer of Khalti, said,
“Our goal is to facilitate day to day payment hassle of the public in line with the same strategy we have aggresively started partnership with various local government and authorities. The strategic partnership shall definitely enable millions of households to enjoy seamless and hassle free tax payment and Kathmandy Metro City for transparent and efficient revenue collection.”
Taxpayers will be able to pay by choosing ‘Khalti’ according to the method given below:
- Go to Local Government in Khalti’s home screen
- Select “Kathmandu Metropolitan City” and enter Tax Payer ID
- Select “Tax Payment Type”
- Rental Tax
- Property Tax
- Business Tax
- Verify the details and proceed with the payment
- Select the payment option as “Khalti wallet” or “Linked Bank Account”
- The taxpayer will receive a tax invoice in the transaction history of Khalti app
