Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Pad in Nepal. It is the first tablet under the new Redmi sub-brand.

The Redmi Pad price in Nepal is Rs. 34,999 (6/128GB). The tablet is available at Xiaomi stores across Nepal or online at Daraz.

The last tablet from Xiaomi was the Xiaomi Pad 5 which was launched last year. It was a semi-flagship product whereas the new Redmi Pad is focused on budget users.

So, let’s take a look at its specifications and features.

Design

Redmi Pad has an all-metal design with an aluminum frame. It has flat sides with a thickness of 0.71 cm and weighs 445 g.

The rear camera module has a rectangular block that houses a single sensor. It comes in three colors: Graphite Gray, Mint Green, and Moonlight Silver.

Like the Xiaomi Pad 5, Redmi Pad also has quad speakers with Dolby Atmos support. But, it doesn’t have a fingerprint sensor or a headphone jack.

Display

Redmi Pad has a big 10.61 inches IPS LCD panel with a 90Hz refresh rate. It has a screen resolution of 1200 x 2000 pixels.

Th 2K panel is a 10-bit display with 1 billion colors and 400 nits of brightness. Also, it doesn’t support HDR but it does come with Widevine L1 certification.

Hardware

In terms of hardware, the Redmi Pad is powered by MediaTek Helio G99 chipset.

It is the same old Helio G95 chipset but slightly overclocked and built using a more efficient 6nm process. It has an Octa-core (2×2.2 GHz Cortex-A76 & 6×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55) CPU and Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.

It comes in three memory variants: 64GB 3GB RAM, 128GB 4GB RAM, and 128GB 6GB RAM.

Camera

For cameras, it has an 8MP rear camera with autofocus and an 8MP front-facing camera.

The front-facing ulrawide camera also supports the FocusFrame feature that adjusts the frame according to your movement. Likewise, both rear and front camera capture videos up to 1080p@30fps.

Battery & OS

Redmi Pad is equipped with a huge 8000mAh battery and supports 18W fast charging. Xiaomi claims that Redmi Pad can provide up to 21+ hours of video playback and 12+ hours of gaming.

Likewise, it comes with MIUI 13 on top of Android 12 and it will get 3 years of security updates and 2 version upgrades of Android.

Redmi Pad looks like a very good device for the price tag. It has a decent chipset, a good display, and a nice design. If it is launched in Nepal at aggressive prices, this will be a very good choice for a budget tablet.
