“Blackview” isn’t a brand you hear about often, but recently, they have definitely been grabbing our attention. And that’s because their tablet game is absolutely top-shelf. I mean, they managed to bag two out of five categories at TechLekh Awards 2025: Tablet Edition — that’s truly something!

Now Blackview Nepal has added Mega 12 to its catalogue, and it looks like it will carry the same energy as the brand’s previous offerings. Why so, you ask? We’ll get to that. But before that…
What is the Price of the Blackview Mega 12 in Nepal?
The Blackview Mega 12 price in Nepal is Rs. 59,999 for the sole 12/256GB variant. It comes with accessories, such as a keyboard case, a wireless mouse, a stylus pen, and a 55W PD charger, all bundled in the box.
That’s not all there is, though! There are other smaller accessories as well, including a USB-C-to-C cable, wired earphones (also with a USB-C connection), an extra tip for the stylus pen, and a tempered glass screen protector. All of these are also in the box.
But the company thought that wasn’t enough, I guess, which is why they are also offering the Blackview R50 smartwatch worth Rs. 3,499 for FREE. This one is a separate offer from the brand, so it is limited-time.
If you want confirmation of the offer’s validity or feel the product before locking in the deal, you can visit Gadgets Shop No. 8 at Tamrakar Complex, New Road. Otherwise, you can get the tablet online through authorised channels like Yantra Nepal, Daraz, and Jeevee.
Yeah, that’s a lot of freebies. We weren’t kidding when we said “The Tablet That Comes with Everything!” in our title. We meant it, quite literally.
Now, all the freebies are good. But that makes you wonder, how’s the product, really? Are they overcompensating for a poor product? We can assure you that’s not the case! We have already received the tablet for review, and it was pretty good.
You will be able to find the review video right above this paragraph once that’s up. But for now, let’s go through the…
Blackview Mega 12 Overview
The Blackview Mega 12 is really a mega in size with a massive 12.2-inch display and a solid heft of 690 grams. Not really a surprise considering the tablet is literally called Mega “12”.
It is not just big but also tough with an IP69K rating. The brand also says it can withstand spills of up to 85°C. That’s a solid claim for a tablet with an all-plastic build — that’s the case for the Space Grey variant, at least. The Flash Gold shade, on the other hand, comes with a faux-leather finish, which is a more premium-feeling and a better pick in my opinion.
Now, I have already mentioned that the Blackview Mega 12 comes with a 12.2-inch screen. It is an IPS LCD and an LTPS panel that can hit refresh rates of 60, 90 and 120Hz. Additionally, the display offers 350 nits of brightness, which is sufficient for indoor usage.
In the meantime, Blackview provided two different numbers for the screen resolution, creating confusion. The overview page says it’s 2.4K, while the specs sheet quotes QFHD+, i.e. 4K.
To confuse you even further, they mention that the pixel density is 174.8 PPI, which, first of all, is quite poor. And secondly, it’s not mathematically possible for a 12.2-inch screen with 2.4K or 4K resolution to have a pixel density that low.

So, which one is it? We can confirm that the overview page is the accurate one, with the display spanning 2,400 x 1,600 pixels. Given that, this puts the screen’s aspect ratio at 3:2. Meanwhile, the pixel density comes in at 236 PPI, which is pretty good for content consumption paired with the tablet’s quad-speaker setup.

Moving on to the performance of the Blackview Mega 12, we get the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 at the helm. It’s the same silicon that powered the Nothing Phone (2a), which is a few years old now but still perfectly capable.
It is then paired with 12GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The tablet also lets you expand the memory by up to 36GB virtually and the storage by up to 2TB via a microSD card. There is a 16/512GB variant available in the international market, but we are only getting the lower trim in Nepal.

However, you will have to give up on the external storage if you want to run two SIM cards on the Blackview Mega 12, which I personally wouldn’t do. I would rather put one SIM and a memory card in the tab and leave it at home.
It could then serve as a landline number and a storage for all the family photos, doubling as a digital photo album. Reminds me of the good ol’ days. *sigh* Moreover, it could be a landline that you could video call on, as it comes with a 50MP rear and a 13MP front-facing camera. Hmmmmn, think about that.
As for the battery, it has a 10,000mAh unit, which is quite massive. But with the latest phones like POCO X8 Pro Max already packing an 8,500mAh battery, 10K in the tablet does not sound all that impressive. There are even phones like Honor Power 2 and Realme P4 Power with a 10,000mAh battery, though not available in Nepal. Just makes you wonder how much bigger a tablet battery could be if only they used silicon-carbon chemistry.
In the meantime, it supports 55W of charging. It also supports 5W reverse charging, but that’s not very convenient. As for software, it comes with Doke PadOS 5.0 based on Android 16, and a bunch of pre-installed AI apps like a chatbot, an AI-powered image editor, video and music generators, and so on.

It also supports PC mode if you wish to use the Blackview Mega 12 as a laptop replacement. With all the accessories you get with the tablet, I can see why you would want to do something like that.

The Blackview Mega 12 is an amazing package with all the freebies included in the box. You are truly getting a lot for the price. However, that does not make it the best tablet in this price range.
The Xiaomi Pad 8 is still a better device with better specs and finish. But the thing with Xiaomi is that it is only available in the 128GB variant at this price. If you want to match Blackview’s storage, then it’s an additional Rs. 10,000. You will need to add another Rs. 16,000 on top of that if you want to get the keyboard and pen as well. The price really ramps up if you want the full setup.
Thus, Blackview Mega 12 is a better investment if you want the full package. But if you just want the tablet and it has to be as good as it gets, then you’re better off getting the Xiaomi Pad 8 instead.
