It’s an exciting time of year for Samsung fans. Alongside the launch of the ultra-thin Galaxy Z Fold7 and Flip7, we also got the brand-new Galaxy Watch 8 Classic.
This marks the long-awaited return of the Classic lineup—making its comeback nearly two years after the launch of the Watch 6 Classic.
What is the Price of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic in Nepal?
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic price in Nepal is Rs. 74,999 for the 46mm variant. Unlike the Watch 8, the Watch 8 Classic only comes in one size. The watch is available for purchase at all Samsung authorized stores across Nepal.
Compared to Samsung’s last Classic model, the Watch 6 Classic, the new Watch 8 Classic has seen a $70 price hike. In Nepal, that translates to around Rs. 10,000 more, which, ironically, is the same price jump we saw with the regular Watch 8 compared to the Watch 7.
This year, Samsung has made some significant changes to its new lineup of smartwatches. First off, the rotating bezel is back, and there’s a complete design overhaul; the new look now closely resembles the Watch Ultra series.
But it’s not just about looks. Samsung has introduced some impressive upgrades to the new Classic variant, some of which we haven’t seen on any smartwatch before.
Let’s dive into the specs and see what’s new.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Overview
Design
There’s been a massive shift in design this time around. The Galaxy Watch 8 Classic now features a “cushion” design, where the watch case is square-ish, but the display remains round. It’s a blend of both worlds and feels quite similar to what we saw with the Galaxy Watch Ultra.
Rotating bezels are back after being absent on the Watch 7. It seems like Samsung is reserving this fan-favorite feature for even-numbered models, just like they did with the Watch 4 and Watch 6, and now again with the Watch 8.
Personally, I love the rotating bezels. They make me feel like a 10-year-old kid wearing a Ben 10 watch. And in terms of usability, having worn a Samsung watch with rotating bezels for a few years now, I can confidently say navigating the UI this way is still as intuitive and satisfying as ever.
That said, the stainless steel body paired with the bezels does make the Watch 8 Classic noticeably heavier; it weighs in at 63.5 grams, almost double that of the non-Classic variant. It’s also slightly larger, coming in at 46mm.
As for the strap, it lives up to the “Classic” name. You get a leather finish on the outside, but it’s lined with silicone on the inside, which makes it easier to clean off sweat after workouts. Plus, Samsung’s new dynamic lug system means you no longer have to deal with those tiny, annoying spring pins, a huge win in terms of convenience.
In terms of color options, Nepal is getting the White variant, though the Black version is also available in global markets.
On the side, Samsung has brought over the much-loved Action Button from last year’s Galaxy Watch Ultra. It’s customizable, allowing you to quickly launch apps, start a stopwatch, or even record voice memos with a single press.
Hardware
The Galaxy Watch 8 Classic gets a noticeable upgrade in display brightness, now peaking at up to 3,000 nits—brighter than the Watch 6 Classic. The battery also sees a minor bump, going from 425mAh to 445mAh.
However, with the new and more powerful Exynos W1000 pentacore processor under the hood, Samsung claims the Watch 8 Classic can last up to 30 hours with Always-On Display (AOD) turned on, and up to 40 hours with AOD off.
That’s the same battery life as the Watch 6 Classic. So, despite the newer chip, added sensors, and only a slightly larger battery, real-world endurance is expected to remain largely unchanged.
At 10.6mm thick and with a 46mm case size, I would’ve preferred a slightly larger battery—especially considering how quickly these smartwatches tend to burn through charge in daily use.
As for memory and storage, the Watch 8 Classic comes with 2GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage—a solid step up from its predecessor.

Connectivity and Software
Samsung seems to be sticking with the same connectivity tech it used in the Watch 6. The Watch 8 Classic still features Bluetooth v5.3.
That would’ve been fine for a semi-budget watch—but this is a full-fledged flagship, one of the top-tier models in its class. With Bluetooth v6.0 already appearing on some devices and v5.4 being on the market for a while now, sticking to v5.3 does feel a bit outdated.
Beyond that, the Watch 8 Classic includes Wi-Fi 5, NFC, and support for global positioning systems like GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou. A notable upgrade here is the addition of four-way satellite navigation with dual-band GPS (L1 + L5), which was missing on the Watch 6 Classic.
What does it mean? Better tracking and reliable positioning which is especially useful in challenging environments like urban areas or dense forests.
On the software side, the Watch 8 Classic runs Wear OS 6, layered with Samsung’s One UI 8 for Watch. And just like the base Watch 8, it also gets the new “Now Bar“—a handy UI element for quick access to recent apps and key functions.
Health Tracking
The Galaxy Watch 8 Classic offers a wide range of health and fitness tracking features—but first, let’s take a look at what’s new.
This time around, Samsung introduces Running Coach, Antioxidant, and Vascular Load tracking. Running Coach analyzes your running style, determines your current fitness level, and creates a personalized plan to help you improve over time.
Antioxidant checks your antioxidant levels by flipping the watch over and placing your thumb on the sensor hub—a new way to assess internal wellness. Vascular Load combines data from your sleep, diet, physical activity, and stress levels to evaluate your cardiovascular health.
Another new feature is Bedtime Guidance, which uses your last three days of sleep data to recommend an optimal bedtime for better rest and recovery.
Beyond these, the Watch 8 Classic also includes familiar features found on many smartwatches: mood detection, menstrual cycle tracking, heart rate monitoring, personalized health stats, and more.
AI Shenanigans
Samsung has managed to integrate Google Gemini into the Watch 8 Classic, making the Watch 8 series the first smartwatches in the world to feature this AI assistant.
That said, given the hardware limitations of a smartwatch, it’s not possible to run the full AI model natively on the device. Instead, all Gemini commands are routed through your phone, which can result in occasional delays.
Still, seeing AI do some genuinely cool stuff—now from your wrist—is exciting. And the fact that this kind of functionality is making its way to smartwatches is pretty impressive.

As satisfying as it is to see the return of the iconic spinning bezels, I’m personally not a big fan of the new cushion design. But that’s purely subjective—those who love the Watch Ultra’s aesthetic might actually prefer it.
When it comes to health and fitness tracking, the Watch 8 Classic feels thoughtfully designed. Unlike some brands that seem to cram in health features just for marketing, Samsung appears to have carefully selected features that are actually useful, and coming from Samsung, you can expect them to be fairly accurate too.
The only real drawback—like with most flagship smartwatches—is the battery life. But to be fair, packing this much power into such a compact form factor inevitably comes with compromises.
