Gogoro, a Taiwan based company and arguably the pioneer of battery-swapping technology on a commercial scale, has made its entry into Nepal. Currently, it operates in countries like China, Indonesia, Singapore, India, Philippines.

Nebula has opened Gogoro’s first outlet at Narayanchaur, Naxal, Nepal following the announcement made at the Nada Auto Show 2024.

In April 2024, Gogoro launched a pilot program operating on a Business-to-Business (B2B) model, partnering with delivery services like Foodmandu and Jum Jum. The program proved to be highly successful and demonstrated the feasibility of electric scooters in Nepal.

By addressing the current charging challenges faced by electric scooters, Gogoro’s battery swapping technology, which allows riders to swap a low battery for a fully charged one in just a few minutes, has showcased its efficiency.

This success has led Gogoro to see strong potential for its smart scooters in the Nepalese market, positioning it as a game-changer in urban mobility.

Gogoro plans to introduce two new models to the Nepali market, one of them being the Gogoro Pulse.

Dual Telescopic Fork at front and Dual Preload Adjustable Shock Absorbers on the rear handle the suspension duties.

Customers engaging in pre-bookings will benefit from a special introductory price, with anticipated deliveries starting in October 2024.

In addition, Nebula is moving forward with an ambitious plan to establish 45 battery swapping stations across the Kathmandu valley, strategically placing them every 2-3 km for maximum convenience.

To access those swapping stations, users are required to buy subscription plan which starts at NRs 799 for 30 days, with various options designed to meet different needs, whether for students, professionals, or daily commuters.

Pricing is based on the energy used, calculated by the Ampere-hour (Ah) rate, ensuring that each plan is tailored to the user’s specific travel and energy requirements.
