Jaecoo J6 is now available in Nepal.

SPG Automobiles, the authorized distributor for Jaecoo vehicles in Nepal, has launched the highly anticipated Jaecoo J6 for the Nepali EV market.

Jaecoo, a brand created by the Chinese automotive giant Chery, was introduced in 2023. This brand focuses on exports and operates alongside Omoda, another Chery brand.

Omoda has already gained popularity in Nepal with its highly sought-after Omoda E5 EV.

The Jaecoo J6 made its global debut at the Malaysia Autoshow 2024, where it was remarked upon for its funky design, reminiscent of a Land Rover Defender.

The J6 is notable for being the first off-road-ready electric SUV in Nepal and stands out as a true SUV, unlike the crossover EVs commonly seen in the Nepali EV market.

Design

The Jaecoo J6 presents a bold and high-standing design, starting with its front end.

Previously known as the “iCar 03,” the J6 features a squared-off design with prominent “i” symbols scattered throughout.

The fascia is dominated by a wide, horizontal grille, flanked by slim Projector Headlights with intricate LED detailing. The grille itself showcases a unique pattern, highlighted by a central “i” icon.

Below the grille, the angular bumper is accentuated by robust cladding, giving the J6 a muscular stance. Integrated fog lights and a skid plate further enhance its off-road credentials.

Performance

The Jaecoo J6 is powered by a 135 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM). It generates a max power of 183.5 PS and a max torque of 220 Nm.

It is supported by a 69.8 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery with a 400 Km WLTP range. Moreover, the charging time from 0 to 100% is around 10 hours with a 7.2 kW AC Charger.

Under fast charging conditions, Jaecoo J6 can charge from 30% to 80% in 30 minutes.

Interestingly, the J6 features an all-aluminum structure just like the Land Rover.

An aluminum frame significantly contributes to reducing a vehicle’s weight while maintaining an excellent strength-to-weight ratio.
