Zeblaze Stratos 4 Launched in Nepal and It Lights Up! Literally!

Zeblaze is one very active smartwatch company, launching so many models that it’s hard to keep track. From the brands’ numerous offerings, “Startos 4” just made it into the local market. And the watch is quite interesting, really.

This smartwatch is built with adventure goers in mind. It has a rugged-ish design with 5ATM water resistance and passed 15 different military-grade tests. It also offers some very interesting features, which we will discuss in further detail in this article.

Zeblaze Stratos 4 Overview

Design and Build

The Zeblaze Straros 4’s design doesn’t particularly inspire many words. It looks rugged-ish and comes with two strap options: Black and Orange.

The watch flaunts both 5ATM and IP69K ratings for water resistance. Which does not come as a surprise, considering how Zeblaze is marketing the Stratos 4 as a “swimming-ready” watch.

Likewise, if the watch is going to be heavily exposed to water, then it is highly prone to rusting. As such, Zeblaze has opted for “316L” stainless steel for the casing of this watch, where the “L” signifies low carbon content, which in turn makes it more rust-resistant.

Furthermore, the Zeblaze Stratos 4 has apparently undergone 15 military-grade tests for MIL-STD-810H compliance, including Altitude, Temperature, Temperature Shock, Humidity, Shock, and Corrosion.

Display and Hardware

For the display, it has a 1.43-inch circular AMOLED panel, stretching 466 pixels all across, maintaining 391 PPI pixel density, and reaching a peak brightness of 1,000 nits. It even has a Corning Gorilla Glass on top.

However, the lack of a model number on Corning glass suggests that it could be the original Gorilla Glass that launched back in 2007. And by today’s standards, it isn’t all that impressive and very much scratchable.

In the meantime, the display specs are identical to another Zeblaze smartwatch dubbed the Stratos 2 Plus.

There isn’t much information on the internals of the Zeblaze Startos 4, apart from the battery, which is a 500mAh unit. The company is claiming an outrageous battery life of up to 60 days! However, looking at how they achieved this number, they are using the watch as a notification reader more than anything else.

If we are to guess how long the watch might last with all the fitness tracking turned on, we would say — a week, at max. It could be more, but that’s how much we are guessing.

Features

Talking of the features, they are very explorer-focused and outdoorsy. The Zeblaze Stratos 4 comes with six-way navigation, yes, six! so that your outdoor navigation and tracking can be as accurate as possible. Then there are compass, barometric pressure, altitude measurement, and such.

The watch even has an LED flashlight built into it, which I must admit is probably the thing I liked most about this watch. I mean, come on. We still get power outages here and there, and we don’t need to hike up a hill at night to utilise the watch’s unique feature.

Additionally, Zeblaze says the Stratos 4 is a “GPS swimming smartwatch” and talks about how it can monitor underwater heart rate, detect the type of stroke, count the strokes, and even measure SWOLF (swim efficiency). Now that doesn’t add much value to someone like me, who just splashes water around in the name of swimming. But I believe someone somewhere will find it useful.

Other than that, the watch comes with over 170 workout modes, out of which the watch can auto-detect five of them. Those being walking, running, cycling, elliptical training, and rowing. The Zeblaze Stratos 4 does heart rate, blood oxygen, stress, and sleep tracking as well, and pings you if it detects any abnormality.

And did I tell you about the built-in flashlight? Oh, I did already?

Connectivity and Compatibility

Users can connect, get insight, and customise the Zeblaze Stratos 4 through the GloryFitPro app, available on both Android and iOS.

It relies on Bluetooth v5.3 to establish a connection with your smartphone, which must run on Android 5.0 or iOS 11.0 software or later. And it does have the Bluetooth calling feature, if you are wondering.

The Zeblaze Stratos 4 price in Nepal is Rs. 14,999. However, you can get it at an exclusive price of Rs. 11,999 through Hukut Store.

The Zeblaze Stratos 4 is an interesting watch with a six-satellite positioning system and swim tracking strokes (pun intended). However, its UI and the need to pair with the rather random GloryFitPro app don’t quite click with me.

Still, I could probably overlook all that — given this watch lights up! Literally! And I love it!
