Smart Telecom is the third largest and growing mobile operator of Nepal. After Nepal Telecom and Ncell, Smart Cell is going to be the third telecom company to introduce the 4G technology in Nepal.
On the 18th of October, Smart Cell officially declared that it is introducing 4G technology through its Facebook Page. It is going to introduce 4G technology in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, and Pokhara.
Currently, Smart Cell has only 2G GSM network. Smart Cell has not developed a 3G network yet. However, with 2G being used for voice services and 4G for the broadband connection, the 3G network is needless.
Smart Telecom started testing 4G LTE technology several months ago in Kathmandu. The 4G network will operate at the frequency of 1800 MHz as per Smart Telecom’s technology neutrality license. The operators are also using new and advanced technology for the development of 4G.
