These new phones feature the latest specs & the “infinity display” which covers almost the entire part of the screen. Prior to the arrival of S8 in Nepal, Samsung Mobile Nepal has announced a price drop in the last year’s Samsung S7 and S7 Edge. S7 and S7 Edge
Samsung S7 and S7 Edge is powered by the last generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chip with a 64-bit Quad-core processor. Both devices run on the latest Android 7.0 (Nougat). S7 features standard 5.1” Super AMOLED Quad HD screen with 2560 x 1440 resolution & 577-ppi pixel density. Meanwhile, the S7 Edge features 5.5” Super AMOLED Quad HD screen with 2560 x 1440 resolution & 534-ppi pixel density.
In terms of storage and battery, both the device contains 32GB internal memory with 4GB RAM for multitasking. S7 Edge overpowers with massive 3600 mAh battery compared to 3000 mAh in S7. The 12MP rear camera on the S7/S7 Edge with f/1.7 aperture provides an amazing picture and video quality. While taking selfies with a 5MP front camera is also a fun experience.

Samsung S8 and S8 Plus is powered by the current gen Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chip with a 64-bit Quad-core processor. Both the devices run on the latest Android 7.0 (Nougat). S8 and S8 Plus features the new Infinity Display that makes the device super bezel-less. The display of S8 is a 5.8” Infinity Super AMOLED Quad HD+ screen with 2960 x 1440 resolution & 571-ppi pixel density. Whereas, S8 Plus has a massive 6.2” Infinity Super AMOLED Quad HD+ screen with 2960 x 1440 resolution & 529-ppi pixel density.
In terms of storage and battery, both the device contains 64GB internal memory with 4GB RAM for multitasking. S8 Plus over-throws S8 with massive 3500 mAh battery compared to S8’s measly 3000 mAh. In comparison with S7 Edge, S8 Plus contains a smaller battery which can be considered a minor drawback.
The camera remains the same from the last generation with one exception. The front camera has been upgraded to 8MP and it also works as an Iris Scanner.

The new S8 and S8 Plus are great smartphones from Samsung. The devices are equipped with the latest specs for smooth performance and heavy duty tasks. So are the S7 and S7 Edge. In terms of hardware, storage and battery both generations are similar to some extent. Though, S8 and S8 Plus provides a slight upgrade in chipset and storage.
In the end, choosing a correct smartphone depends on what kind of user you are. If you are a gadget-freak, S8 and S8 Plus provides the latest specification with 10nm processor compared to the 14nm processor of S7 and S7 Edge. It is more power efficient & performers better than the older S7; so the apps will take less time to load and users can juggle between the apps easily. Also, the super bezel-less design provides more immersive user experience while watching medias and playing games. Therefore, if you want a new design and all the latest hardware specifications you should definitely get the S8/S8 plus.
But, if you do not care much about the design and all the new features of S8 then you should definitely get an S7. S7 provides top-notch performance & has the same camera as the S8. Also, Samsung S7 and S7 edge are available for Rs. 57,900 and Rs. 68,900 respectively at the moment. For this price, it’s one hell of a deal; so you should definitely get an S7/S7 edge if you’re ready to sacrifice all the new features about the S8/S8 plus.
S8 and S8 plus are certainly a lavishing product with new features and design but the massive price drop on the S7/S7 edge is too tempting!
