
International Traders have reportedly imported vehicles worth a total of approximately Rs. 8 billion to Nepal from India on the eve of the festive season. These vehicles were imported between mid-July to mid-September this year.
30 percent of the total cash revenue was subsidized from the import of Indian vehicles according to Santosh Yadav, Information Officer at Birgunj Customs Checkpoint.
The vehicles imported during this 2 months period include 30 buses, 63 mini bus, a micro-bus, jeep and car each, 2,285 van, 298 double cap pick-up and 287 single cap pick-ups.
