Pathao, a Bangladesh based transportation tech company will soon be entering the Nepali market. The company has already announced that it will be coming to Nepal via social media channels.
Likewise, they have been using online job vacancy platforms like Merojob to find potential employees for their venture into Nepal. Pathao Rides is a motorbike sharing platform very similar to Tootle.
Pathao has been operating successfully in the three main cities of Bangladesh. Along with a ride-sharing platform, it also has other platforms like food delivery, (Pathao Food) and mobile-based payment system (Pathao Pay).
In the Nepali market, there are players like Tootle, Sarathi, and Eddy Cab in the same field that Pathao will be entering. This is sure to cause some stirrup in the Nepali market.
Tootle was launched back in January of 2017 and has been providing ride-sharing platforms for bikes. Likewise, Sarathi and Eddy Cab are taxi hailing services. Considering that Pathao is an international service that has already had a generous experience, it might be a strong competitor in the field.
