Instagram is one of the most used social media platforms and it has been integrating some interesting features from Snapchat recently. First, they brought the “story” feature from Snapchat and now they are testing the feature that allows users to get a notification when someone screenshots their story.
So, if you are among those people who screenshots other’s stories, be aware! Currently, they are testing this feature and it has not been rolled out yet!
What Exactly is the Deal?
You get a notification when someone screenshots your memories/stories in Snapchat. Instagram has been testing the same feature for their stories. However, this feature is still in beta and only a few people who were found guilty of taking a screenshot got a pop-up notification. The notification, or more like a warning, said, “Next time you take a screenshot or screen recording, the person who posted the story will be able to see it.”

If you are on the other end, you can see the people who took a screenshot of your story. There is already a tab where you can see a list of people who saw your story. Now, a new tab will be added where you can see the list of people who took a screenshot of your story. However, you do not exactly get a notification when someone takes a screenshot. You have to manually check the list to know if there is one.

But there is a downside to this feature, or rather “upside” for some people. *pun intensifies*
However, there are some workarounds for this issue. Some are as simple as just putting your phone on airplane mode while taking the screenshot or taking a screenshot from a web browser on your computer. Another possible alternative may be recording your screen when browsing the stories.
Once again, this feature is not available to every user yet. Obviously, this feature is still in testing phase. We are not even sure if this feature is going to roll out on every other device.
