Honor Nepal Teases Launch of X5b Series with Differences in Camera and Storage

Honor X5b Overview

Design and Display

Honor X5b and X5b Plus are identical in terms of design. It comes with a squircle camera island with four cutouts enclosed within it. The phone ships in Ocean Blue, Starry Purple, and Midnight Black colours with light linear patterns.

On the front lies a 6.56-inch TFT LCD panel with HD+ resolution stretching 720 x 1,612 pixels. This display covers 16.7 million colours while offering a 90Hz refresh rate. The Honor X5b series supports dynamic dimming between 2–530 nits of brightness.

Hardware

Both phones pack the MediaTek Helio G38 processor for its processing prowess. It is an octa-core processor with a maximum clock speed of 2.2GHz. In the meantime, the graphical load is handled by IMG GE8320 GPU.

In terms of memory, both members of the Honor X5b series get 4GB physical RAM and an additional 4GB virtually through Honor RAM Turbo technology.

One of the very few differences between the two phones is their storage. The titular model gets a measly 64GB while the Plus model enjoys double the capacity i.e. 128GB. In the meantime, both phones support storage expansion of up to 1TB with a microSD card.

Cameras

Moving on to the camera, the Honor X5b features a 13MP unit. Likewise, the Honor X5b Plus gets a larger 50MP sensor. Both phones also come with an auxiliary lens, however, the resolution and purpose it is unknown.

Meanwhile, the Honor X5b series houses a 5MP selfie camera on the front inside a waterdrop cutout.

Battery and OS

In the tank, the Honor X5b series has a 5,200mAh battery and supports standard 10W charging. Furthermore, Honor also claims four years of anti-ageing durability on these phones.

Software-wise, you are looking at Android 14 with MagicOS 8.0 skin on top of it. The company has not revealed the number of updates the Honor X5b series will receive.

The Honor X5b price in Nepal is yet to be revealed. It will be available for purchase within the coming few weeks all across Nepal.

The Honor X5b series consists of the company’s latest entry-level phones — Honor X5b and X5b Plus. Both phones come with a 6.56-inch LCD screen, MediaTek Helio G36 processor, and 5,200mAh battery.

The difference between the two phones is their storage and cameras. The base model has 64GB storage and a 13MP shooter while the Plus model gets a larger 128GB ROM and 50MP camera. These phones will likely be the cheapest offerings in the Honor’s portfolio.
