Girls in Technology Conference 2016 on June 12, 2016

Girls in Technology (GiT) is an organization of IT Girls/Women established in 2015 with an intention to get more girls/women involved in the field of IT. Its primary goal is to make women aware of the scope of programming and technology worldwide and in Nepal.

With an aim to aware girls about the endless opportunities of technology in Nepal and educate them on how they can grab those opportunities to build a better career, GiT is ready to organize its first conference, ‘Girls In Technology Conference 2016‘ on June 12, 2016.

To know more about the event and GiT I had a conversation with Rojina Bajracharya, Co-founder of Girls in Technology. Here is what she has to say,

Q. Why GiT conference? And can you discuss the theme of this event?

A. GiT conference is to bring diverse women in tech at the same arena and share their part of interest as well as stories, this will take an approach of assembly .This assembly will help the girls/women working in tech to the best suitable path they can take. Hearing the ideas and stories of someone who has already got experience is like taking theoretical mentorship .We know, mentors are so valuable in our path of career, this conference will help gather those mentors, who are working in diverse areas of the technology field. Furthermore, this conference can be a very optimistic place for tech opportunists.

Q. Who can get benefitted from this event?

A. Our name, GiT, itself summons up our target audience. We are all moving into an era where all our activities depend on technology somehow. Our objective is to aware, inspire and make sure we include active participation of every person in the technological evolution. So, we plan on benefitting a huge group of students, developers, engineers and every person related directly or indirectly to the technology from our initiative. This event targets in facilitating technology enthusiasts. Since we have the best technological advisers, innovative and enthusiastic students, developers, programmers, this event is going to benefit a huge group of people.

Q. Can you tell us briefly about GiT’s aim/ objective?

A. GiT is a community that helps young girls to explore the tech field and build their career in accordance to it. Our main aim is to accelerate the growth of innovative girls who are entering into the tech area and building successful startups. GiT has been facilitating, learning and providing skills through advanced curriculum and programming within the IT fields.
