Dristi Launches a Home Security Camera in Nepal, Dristi Snowman Camera

A new Nepali brand Dristi has launched a home security camera. Dubbed the Dristi Snowman Camera, the camera is said to be designed by NetTV and is distributed and marketed by Neoteric.

The Dristi Snowman Camera features a 3MP camera, can record HD videos, and lets users view real-time video from anywhere through the mobile app. In this article, we will discuss the features of the Dristi Snowman Camera.

Dristi Snowman Camera Overview

Design

Much like a snowman, the Dristi Snowman Camera comes in a while plastic exterior. The white rotating sphere with a black camera circle sits on top of the base. The black circle has a 3MP camera and a bunch of IR illuminators surrounding the lens for night vision.

Just outside the circle is a microphone, while the speaker is located on the back of the sphere, for two-way audio. Tilting the camera to face the ceiling reveals a microSD card slot and a reset button. The back of the base has a Micro-USB port for power supply.

Features

The Dristi Snowman Camera supports live viewing. You can monitor your property with the camera in real time via the Dristi mobile app on your phone. The mobile app is available on both Android and iOS devices.

The security camera sends the footage via 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connectivity. It does not support 5GHz Wi-Fi. You can also tilt and pan remotely from the app for a 360-degree view.

Additionally, it features motion detection, human detection, and person tracking. The motion and human detection features send notifications to the smartphone or tablet when motion or a human is detected. The person tracking feature pans and tilts automatically, following the person.

The camera also supports two-way audio. This feature lets you communicate with those present in the camera view.

For the night, the Dristi Snowman Camera has a smart night vision mode that automatically gets enabled when the camera detects low light. The camera can see in darkness using its infrared (IR) light. However, the video will be in black-and-white.

The surveillance camera saves the footage on a microSD card and uploads it to cloud storage. However, the free plan only records a day of footage. If you want the cloud recording for more days, you need to subscribe to a paid plan.
