boAt Wave Hype with Bluetooth Calling Launched in Nepal

Consumer electronics brand boAt launched another smartwatch of the Wave series, the boAt Wave Hype in Nepal. The smartwatch made its debut exclusively on the Nepali market on the 13th of December 2023.

Since the watch falls under the budget segment of the boAt company, the watch carries some basic features that are expected from a smartwatch. However, it has Bluetooth calling and IP67 dust and water resistance as an added bonus.

boAt Wave Hype Overview

Design and Display

The Wave Hype brings a rectangular display with rounded edges. The display is a 1.85-inch HD display with a resolution of 240 x 280 pixels. Falling in a lower price bracket than the Enigma X400, boAt has made a compromise on the display with a TFT LCD. This compromise will especially affect the contrast ratio.

Moving on to the overall design, the watch has visible bezels and a slightly bigger chin. You will get a speaker grille on the left side of the watch and a multi-purpose button on the right. The mic is placed below the button while the back of the watch houses the charging pins and sensors.

Talking about the build, the detachable watch strap is silicone material but the rest of the body is most likely made of plastic. Regardless, boAt stated the watch is IP67 dust and water-resistant. So, the watch can be securely used outdoors.

Buyers have a color choice of black, grey, pink, purple, and beige.

Health and Other Features

The boAt Wave Hype supports Bluetooth calling as it comes with its own microphone and speakers. The users can not only dial directly from the watch but also store up to 20 contacts in the watch itself.

Furthermore, it has over 50+ sports modes dedicated to recording an estimate of distance covered, calories burnt, steps taken, and exact timings. The sports mode covers different activities such as weightlifting, walking, running, cycling, yoga, basketball, and many more.

Apart from these, 24×7 health tracking functions such as heart rate, SpO2, stress, and sleep monitoring are also available on the Hype watch.

Among the more common features like phone notifications, alarms, countdown timers, a stopwatch, camera controls, music controls, and weather, we find that Find My Phone and voice assistant activation are also present on this one. Lastly, it also offers over 100 watch faces to choose from.

Battery and Connectivity

In terms of battery, the boAT Wave Hype has a 220mAh battery. With this, boAt says that users will get a battery life of 5 to 7 days with a full charge. Inside the packaging, you will get a magnetic pogo-pin cable to charge the watch.

It supports Bluetooth 5.3 to stay connected with your smartphone. Additionally, users can pair and customize the watch through the boAt Wearables application available both on Android and iPhone. The app is supported on all devices running Android 7.0 and iOS 12.0 or above.

The boAt Wave Hype price in Nepal is Rs. 3,499. The watch is available for purchase in retail stores and online via Daraz.
