Around Rs. 10,000 is the least you can spend and still get a smartphone. Sure, you could find a second-hand set for less, but if you want the full unboxing experience, this is as low as it gets. Hence, this segment is called the “entry-level”.

To be clear, you can still buy phones for under Rs. 10,000, but those are dumbphones — formally known as feature phones, or as I like to call them, “tuktukey” phones. You know, the ones with a physical keypad that goes tuk tuk tuk tuk when you type a text? No? Just me getting nostalgic?
Anyway, here’s what you can expect with phones under Rs. 10,000 in Nepal:
What to Expect?
Honestly speaking, not much. I was actually surprised to find out that we could still buy phones at such low prices with inflation and the rising cost of living, and all. You know what I am saying?
In fact, until a few months ago, you could actually get really good phones at Rs. 10,000. But with the latest RAM shortage driving up the prices even further, those phones jumped in price to around Rs. 12,000. We might come up with that list later, but it’s a miracle to still be getting phones at this price.
That being said, these phones are barebones to the core. You get a touchscreen interface with an LCD panel. The specs sheet looks a bit outdated, and these phones running on two+ year-old software is normal to see.
As such, the performance won’t be great. You can doomscroll on your social media on these phones, but you may have to do it on the “Lite” version of those social apps. And you may be able to play a bunch of offline games, but trying to play online battle games will likely be a lag-fest.
And remember how I said the phones may be running on an old OS? Yeah, it also means that your phones are more likely to be outdated very soon. Apps regularly push updates. And suddenly, one day, the older OS on your phone will stop supporting those apps.
So, there’s that. However, that doesn’t mean you’ll stop being able to make calls and texts, which is most likely the most important thing for you at such a tight price of Rs. 10,000.
*While this list is for the best phones under 10000 in Nepal, it may contain phones that exceed the price tag by up to Rs. 1,000. This is so you don’t miss out on a solid choice due to a technicality.
*There are also a few phones at this price point whose entire schtick is to look like the latest iPhone or Samsung’s Ultra flagship, and nothing else. We’ve skipped such phones from this list, because looking expensive isn’t the same as offering real value.

5. X-Age Leap

Leap is a smartphone from a Nepali company, X-Age. The phone originally launched at a higher price, but it’s now quoted at around Rs. 10,000 on the company website. It has nothing out of the ordinary going for it.
Rs. 10,009 (4/64GB)
Pros
- Decent hardware
Cons
- Weak performance
- Boots on Android 13
Thoughts on X-Age Leap
This phone makes it into the top 5 list through the process of elimination. I seriously went: this one doesn’t cut, this isn’t good enough, and what remained was the X-Age Leap.
Firstly, it has the UNISOC SC9863A powering it, a processor so forgettable that the company did not even bother naming it properly. However, this is not the only phone to rely on this silicon at this price point, so we can’t throw a lot of shade at the X-Age Leap.
While I am not the greatest fan of its performance, the company at least paired it with 4 gigs of RAM and 64GB of storage. Other companies just gave 2GB of memory and called it a day.
Likewise, you get a 5,000mAh battery on this phone, which does not sound all that impressive. But other phones in this price range make do with 4,700mAh or even smaller 4,000mAh batteries. So, 5,000mAh by comparison looks next level.
So, as you may have realised by now, X-Age Leap isn’t that impressive. But thanks to other options at this price setting the bar so low, this phone looks a lot better by comparison.
That being said, this phone boots on Android 13, which is a bit too old for my liking. However, it’s not like there aren’t other phones that come with the same software, so that’s not an X-Age Leap-only issue.

4. Benco V90 Plus

Benco V90 Plus offers a balanced experience at this price point. Its hardware is good across the board, but one area where it excels is charging. With 18W charging support, it’s the only fast charging phone in the segment!
Rs. 10,399 (4/64GB) | Rs. 11,599 (4/128GB)
Pros
- 18W fast charging
- 8MP selfie camera
Cons
- Boots on Android 13
Thoughts on Benco V90 Plus
The Benco V90 Plus has very balanced specs. We get a 6.56-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate, a 5,000mAh battery, and a 13MP main camera — all of which aren’t unique at this price range, which is why I listed them out first, so that we can talk about what makes this phone special.
Then we have the processor — the UNISOC T606, a very popular choice in the segment, and a massive step up from the SC9863A chip on the X-Age Leap and a bunch of other similarly priced smartphones.
It has 4GB RAM and 64GB storage: an okay combination, but the support for 2TB external storage is absolutely massive. Likewise, the 18W charging support it has is the fastest in the segment! And yes, it is the only fast-charging phone you can get at Rs. 10,000.
The Bennco V90 Plus also has an 8MP selfie camera, which is the highest-resolution front-facing camera in this list. So yes, the Benco V90 Plus offers a few standout features, without sacrificing on other aspects.
However, the one thing that holds this phone back is the software again. The Benco V90 Plus boots on Android 13, which is over a couple of years old at this point. And as I explained in the “What to expect” section, it heavily hampers the longevity of the phone.
And as a result, despite having a lot of good things, the Benco V90 Plus finds it in the lower side of the best phones under Rs. 10,000 in Nepal list.

3. Benco V90i SE

Benco V90i SE has the best display in the segment, with a massive size of 6.9 inches, 120Hz refresh rate, and an 85% NTSC colour coverage. Meanwhile, it boots on Android 14, and the rest of its specs are decent too.
Rs. 10,499 (3/64GB)
Pros
- Great display
- Good design
Cons
- Only 3GB RAM
- Only 8MP main camera
Thoughts on Benco V90i SE
Another spot, and it’s Benco once again. This time, we have the Benco V90i SE, and it shares some of its hardware features with our previous entry.
For instance, it also has the UNISOC T606 for its brain and is powered by a 5,000mAh cell. Then there are a few things that have taken a hit, like the memory size, which is now at 3GB. But at least they allow you to virtually extend it by 5GB, instead of just 4. So, the combined memory size is the same as previous offerings.
Then there are the cameras. With an 8MP rear and a 5MP selfie shooter, you see the numbers on the paper have definitely gone down. But here is the thing with cameras — megapixels don’t matter much. So, the Benco V90i SE might perform similarly to other phones in this list, even though the pixel count is lower.
However, the downgrade that hurts the most is the charging speed, which is now at standard 10W. Bummer. And in exchange for these compromises, you pick a few things up.
Like, now you get the newer Android 14 out of the box. The Benco V90i SE doesn’t just boot on newer OS, it looks much more modern and premium too. After all, the design is pretty much a copy-paste of the Huawei Mate 60 series, which was the company’s flagship offering.
The looks might be the most obvious upgrade, but it definitely isn’t the most impactful in my books. It’s the display. The Benco V90i SE comes with the most decorated display in the segment. It’s a 6.9-inch panel, which is absolutely massive! For reference, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra also has the same-sized display.
Not only that… It also offers a 120Hz refresh rate, making the Benco V90i SE not just the only phone on this list with such fluidity, but also the most affordable phone in the entire market to do so.
Furthermore, Benco list 85% NTSC colour coverage with the V90i SE, which is actually pretty good. So, if you want a good display experience or say media consumption is your primary agenda, then Benco V90i SE is as good as it gets at this price.

2. Blackview A52 Pro

Blackview A52 Pro has been around for a while and boots on Android 13. However, it is segment-leading in not one, but TWO categories, which is why it might be THE phone for hardware heads.
Rs. 10,999 (6/128GB)
Pros
- Great storage
- Large battery
Cons
- Boots on Android 13
- A bit pricier
Thoughts on Blackview A52 Pro
Let’s start with the issues, the first being its software. It comes with Android 13, and I have already explained why it can be problematic… twice. So yeah, that’s one issue.
And the other is the price. At Rs. 10,999, the Blackview A52 Pro barely makes it into the list, utilising the entirety of the 1,000-rupee-wiggleroom we’ve put in place.
Now that’s out of the way, we should mention the biggest thing Blackview A52 Pro has going for it. It most likely offers the most value of any phone on this list, hardware-wise.
Firstly, it has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, which is the most memory and storage combo you get at this price point. Then it has a 5,180mAh cell, which is once again the largest battery size in the segment.
Moreover, the rest of the hardware is competitive as well. It packs the UNISOC T606 chipset, which 4 out of the 5 phones on this list also use. The same goes for the 5MP selfie camera. Meanwhile, the 13MP main sensor it has is shared with two other phones here.
So, the Blackview A52 Pro matches most of the other offerings on this list in terms of core specs, while still leading in two key categories. As a result, it ranks this high on the list.

1. Ai+ Pulse

Ai+ Pulse is the most powerful phone on this list, comes with the latest software, and is also the most affordable option. This phone achieves this without really compromising on all other aspects, which is why Ai+ Pulse is our top pick for the best phone under Rs. 10,000.
Rs. 9,999 (4/64GB) | Rs. 13,499 (6/128GB)
Pros
- Great performance
- Latest software
- 50MP camera
- Affordability
Cons
- Increased price
Thoughts on Ai+ Pulse
Ai+ Pulse has all the standard specs and a few things that catch the eye. Let’s get the not-so-exiting stuff out of the way first.
It has a 6.75-inch TFT LCD panel, the second-largest on this list, but otherwise it isn’t much of a kicker. Then we have the starting trim of 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. It is also available in a 6/128GB variant, making Ai+ Pulse one of the rarer phones to be available in multiple trims.
This phone also supports a microSD of up to 1TB, which helps users combat the limited storage it has by default. The Ai+ Pulse has a 5,000mAh battery and 10W charging speed, which has been mostly standard in this price point. Likewise, it has a 5MP selfie snapper, which is what all the phones apart from the Benco V90 Plus are rocking.
Now, to the things that are exciting about this phone! Firstly, we get the UNISOC T615 chipset on the Ai+ Pulse. Finally, something that’s not the UNISOC T606! Also, the T615 is slightly more powerful than the said chip, which makes the Ai+ Pulse the most powerful phone in this list and at this price point.
Then it has a 50MP camera on the back, which is the highest resolution main sensor in the segment. So, Ai+ Pulse leads in two aspects that people care about the most — performance and camera.
Furthermore, it boots on Android 15, which makes it the phone with the latest software among the bunch. The NxtQuantum skin that Ai+ runs on top is quite commendable as well, offering a near-clean software experience.
And lastly, we have the price! The phone starts at Rs. 9,999, which is the lowest on this list. That sounds even more impressive when you realise this is after a price hike. Originally, the Ai+ Pulse launched at just Rs. 8,999, making it the undisputed best phone under Rs. 10,000 in Nepal.
At its current price, it’s slightly less impressive; however, it still has enough chops to retain its top spot on this list.
Honourable Mentions
Now that we have listed out our picks for the top 5 smartphones under 10000 in Nepal. Now, we’ll round off this list with an honourable mention—a phone that just missed the cut but still deserves a shout-out!
UMIDIGI G9A

The UMIDIGI G9A is a solid contender for the top five, arguably even the fourth spot. Its display, UNISOC T606 chipset, 5,000mAh battery, and 13MP/8MP cameras are standard but competitive for the segment. It runs Android 14 Go, which may offer a better experience than full Android at this level.
However, its availability is unclear. It’s currently hard to find online, so it remains an honourable mention.
Rs. 10,499 (4/64GB)
