GitHub Field Day is taking place in Nepal for the first time. It is a day-long unconference that brings together a group of student leaders and members of the developer communities in Nepal.
The meeting will be held on June 26, 2022, and its objective is to build a stronger local tech community by allowing participants to learn from each other’s experiences and get to know one another.
As this is a participant-driven event, the attendees lead the talks and discussions on topics and agendas of their choosing. Participants can offer technical discussion and activity topics, and they can take part in conversations as little or as much as they choose.
It is organised by the team at GitHub Education, GitHub Campus Experts, and technical student leaders. A student leader is someone who’s actively involved in improving their local technical community.
Who can apply and how to apply?
The GitHub Field Day Nepal will be held at Grand Norling Hotel’s Resort, Kathmandu on June 26. There are only limited seats available and this program is only for undergraduate/bachelor’s level students in Nepal.
The event is completely free to attend. GitHub Field Day Nepal will reimburse travel and accommodation costs for select students living outside the Kathmandu valley.
Interested can apply by filling up the application form here. The deadline for early decision applications is May 11, and the regular deadline is May 22.
Student leaders and members of tech communities across the country are encouraged to apply. Applicants will receive the application update soon after the registration deadline. Selected individuals will receive all the details about the venue, accommodation, and travel options.
