Over the years, the Hyundai Santro brand has earned popularity and respect among all age group of car buyers in Nepal for its low cost of ownership, decent styling, practical features, decent fuel economy, and good interior space. This has undoubtedly made it one of the best choices as a practical family car. The Santro throughout its product life has been offered with a very reliable petrol engine which also makes it a no-fuss vehicle.
Santro maintained a firm hold in the market for a certain time beforehand but with lack of timely upgrades, it has declined its way until now. Hyundai has introduced the new 2018 Santro built on a new platform and comes with a new design and styling. It has already been launched in India and is also speculated to soon launch in Nepal.
The new Santro has been launched in India in five variants for the petrol manual version, while the petrol automatic and the CNG manual versions had two variants each. D-Lite, Era, Magna, Sportz and the top of the line Asta are the five petrol manual variants. The car is available in seven color options ranging from bright blue, red or green to the more sombre whites, greys, and golds. Hyundai claims the new 2018 Santro to have some best-in-segment features, and better safety features compared to its predecessor.
2018 Hyundai Santro Feature Highlights
The new Hyundai Santro is powered by a 1.1-litre, 4-cylinder reliable petrol engine, which pumps out 68 BHP of peak power and 99 NM of peak torque. On the outline, the Santro misses out on LED daytime running lights or projector headlamps. The tail lamps too are conventional and not LED versions instead it gets a flat back with two mid-set tail lamps. The Santro is also much larger than its predecessor measuring in at 3610 mm in length, 1645 mm in width and 1560 mm in height.
On the inside, the new 2018 Santro boasts of a range of offerings like a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports mirror-link and Bluetooth connectivity. Another first in class feature that the new Hyundai Santro has introduced is that now it also gets rear AC vents. The new Hyundai Santro will also offer a single driver side airbag as standard on all models. It offers a secondary passenger side airbag only on the Asta model. While all variants of the Hyundai Santro will get a grey and beige interior, the Diana Green version in the Asta model will get an all-black interior along with color-matched interior trim and color matched green seatbelts.
