The District Public Health Office (DPHO), Siraha has conducted a free 3-day mobile health camp for the survivors in various flood affected areas across the district, reports The Himalayan Times.
According to Dr.Chumanlal Das, the DPHO Siraha Chief, the medical team from Dhulikhel Hospital went to Itari Prashahi at Kalyanpur Municipality-3 in the district because of the vast amount of flood-victims in need of medical care. The medical team conducted health examinations from august 14-16, and as many as 248 flood-survivors from the locality benefited from the service. The victims were examined for jaundice, diarrhea, fever, cough, common cold and nausea among other infections and ailments.
Medicines were distributed free of cost to those suffering from an infection or an ailment and the necessary measures were taken to prevent the outbreak of an epidemic. Relief materials like clothes and utensils, that were donated by Nepali citizens, was also handed over to the Kalyanpur Municipality to be distributed to the ones in need. Along with all of this, water purifying drops and materials were also distributed to as many as 76 households at Itari Prashahi in the district.
Meanwhile, another medical team conducted health checkups at Karjanha Rural Municipality -2 in the district giving treatment to about 29 affected people. A few more mobile health camps were also organized at Mushahar Basti of Lahan Municipality-1, Gautari of Karjanha Rural Municipality and at Aurahi and Mirchaiya municipalities among other places ravaged by flood.
