The authorised distributor of Acer products in Nepal, i.e. Mercantile, has introduced two new gaming laptops in Nepal — the Acer Nitro V16S and Nitro 16S.

Here, we will focus on the former, which is the lower-powered of the two. However, that does not mean Acer Nitro V16S is any weaker! We will talk more about the laptop later on.
What is the Price of Acer Nitro V16S in Nepal?
The Acer Nitro V16S price in Nepal is Rs. 1,96,999 for the variant with 16GB RAM, 512GB storage, and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 graphics. It appears that only this trim for this model is available in Nepal as of now.
With such a hefty price tag, paying the full amount in cash might be a bit hard to manage. That’s why Mercantile is offering easy EMI services with a down payment as low as 20%. Furthermore, they are offering freebies worth Rs. 15,000, including a gaming headset, a mechanical keyboard, a mouse, and a laptop backpack.
The distributor is also offering a two-year brand warranty to customers who get their laptops through their authorised channels. Hence, it is advised that the customer check for the Mercantile hologram sticker on the product to ensure its authenticity and be eligible for the warranty.
The availability of EMI, bundled freebies, and the two-year warranty are definitely attractive. The laptop’s specs are equally attractive, too. So, without further ado, let’s discuss more about the Acer Nitro V16S in this article:
Acer Nitro V16S Overview
The Acer Nitro V16S is quite a beefy machine, weighing 2.10 kilograms and nearly 20mm thick. Its design strikes the right balance between edgy and sleek, giving it just enough personality without sticking out in a corporate setting.
It has a 16-inch IPS panel on the front with WUXGA (1,920 x 1,200 pixels) resolution and buttery smooth 180Hz refresh rate. Acer says the display covers 100% sRGB and can hit up to 400 nits of brightness. Meanwhile, it is a ComfyView screen, meaning it has a matte finish.
Moving on to the internals, we get the AMD Ryzen 7 260 processor with maximum clock speeds of up to 5.10GHz. The processor has eight cores, 16 threads, and 16MB L3 cache. For graphical duties, you get the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 with 8GB GDDR7 VRAM.
As for the RAM on the laptop itself, we are getting 16 gigs DDR5, which sounds absolutely mouthwatering in the current scenario. In the meantime, storage is on the lower side with a 512GB PCI NVMe SSD. The Acer Nitro V16S is available in larger storage configurations elsewhere in the world, so swapping out the default SSD for a higher-capacity one is always an option. You can confirm upgradability with the distributor.
The company did not specify the battery capacity on this laptop. However, they do mention that the chemistry is lithium-ion. Other than that, Acer has equipped the Nitro V16S with a thermal management system with a dual-fan architecture and quad-intake/exhaust design to keep things cool and smooth.
Likewise, ports include a DC-in jack, an HDMI 2.1 and a USB-C on the back, and three USB-A 3.2s (one with offline charging support), a microSD card slot, an ethernet port, and a headphone jack spread across both sides. Lastly, you are getting Windows 11 for software and a handful of AI features, ranging from automatically framing you and blurring the background during a video call to boosting FPS during your gaming session.

Acer Nitro V16S has quite a hefty price tag. However, looking at the specs and freebies, the pricing doesn’t look all that bad. You could possibly find the same laptop for a little cheaper in the market, but you will have to miss out on the sweet two-year brand warranty you get with laptops from Mercantile.
