Samsung Galaxy M56 Overview
Design
Samsung has seriously leveled up the design game with the Galaxy M56. Ditching the old camera ring layout, it now features a sleeker vertical camera island—two lenses grouped together with a third sitting just below.
While the frame is still plastic, the brushed finish paired with a glass back adds a nice premium touch. One of the biggest highlights is just how slim the phone is. At only 7.2mm thick, it’s 30% thinner than last year’s M55 and even slimmer than the A56 and A36.
The bezels on the M56 is also super thin this year, at least compared to M55. Samsung boasts a bezel reduction of 36%, which definitely makes the phone look more desirable. That added with the punch hole notch deserve a chef’s kiss.
The bottom bezel is still slightly thicker than the rest, but it’s not a dealbreaker.
Compared to older M-series phones that looked bulky and brick-like, the M56 is a breath of fresh air. It feels like Samsung has finally taken midrange design seriously, bringing the M-series much closer to its A-series siblings in terms of visual appeal.

Display
The Galaxy M56 sticks to a familiar formula with a 6.74-inch Super AMOLED+ panel with a FHD+ resolution of 2340 x 1080 and a 120Hz refresh rate. The display also features a Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection.
Samsung has equipped the display with an always-on feature and a peak brightness of 1300 nits in High Brightness Mode (HBM), claiming it’s 33% brighter than most competitors. That makes outdoor visibility noticeably better.
You also get HDR support, which is always a welcome touch in the midrange space. And for added convenience, the M56 includes an under-display fingerprint sensor for biometric security—another premium-like feature in this price segment.
Hardware
Samsung’s in-house Exynos 1480 powers the Galaxy M56, marking a notable performance jump from last year’s M55. This is the same chip we saw on the Galaxy A55, so you can expect a similar level of smooth performance.
The octa-core setup includes four Cortex-A78 cores at 2.75 GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0 GHz. Compared to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 on the M55, the Exynos 1480 should deliver better performance across the board.
Samsung has also improved thermal handling with a 33% larger vapor chamber, which helps keep things cooler during extended use. On the graphics side, you get the Xclipse 530 GPU.
In terms of memory, the M56 packs 8GB of LPDDR5x RAM with either 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage—a welcome upgrade for faster app loading and file transfers. Sadly, microSD card support is missing this year, which might be a letdown for some power users.
Camera
While the Galaxy M56 features a refreshed camera design, the actual camera hardware remains mostly unchanged. It still includes a 50MP main sensor with OIS and PDAF, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro lens—a setup we’ve seen across many mid-range Samsung devices.
The front camera sees a drop in megapixels from 50MP on the M55 to 12MP on the M56. However, don’t let the numbers fool you—the new 12MP sensor is larger, which helps capture better detail and improved dynamic range, especially in low light.
Both the rear and front cameras support 4K video recording at 30fps, which is great to see at this price point.
Battery and OS
The Galaxy M56 packs a 5,000mAh battery, which might sound standard—but fitting it into a 7.2mm slim body is definitely a win. It also supports flagship-level 45W fast charging, giving it a real edge in the midrange segment.
On the software front, it runs Android 15 with One UI 7, and Samsung is offering a solid 6 years of software and security updates, which is increasingly becoming a norm for Samsung’s newer devices.
That said, the lack of Galaxy AI features is a bit of a letdown. Hopefully, Samsung brings those tools to the M-series next year.

Samsung Galaxy M56 | Price in Nepal [Expected] |

The Galaxy M56 brings a much-needed refresh to the M-series, especially with its slimmer, lighter design and upgraded Exynos 1480 chip—all while keeping the reliable 5,000mAh battery. The FHD+ Super AMOLED+ display is another highlight that adds to the overall premium feel.
