Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Series Launched in Nepal: No More Like AirPods!

 HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Samsung Galaxy Buds4 series price in Nepal starts at Rs. 24,799.
  • This earbuds series consists of two members: the standard and the Pro variants.
  • These buds got a design makeover and bring a handful of feature changes from previous models.

If you remember, the Buds3 series had a rough reception — and not because of the audio, which was actually well-regarded. The design was the problem. With the Buds4 series, Samsung appears to have taken that feedback seriously.

Samsung launched the Galaxy Buds4 and Buds4 Pro in Nepal around mid-March, just a few days after the Galaxy S26 series pre-bookings went live — and rather silently at that, which seems to be a theme with its flagship launches lately.

As I briefly mentioned earlier, the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 (along with the Galaxy Watch Ultra) faced controversy for looking too much like AirPods (and Apple Watch Ultra 2). The Buds Pro had an LED strip to try and set it apart, but that wasn’t nearly enough for critics. And they put it up on the stake.

The whole ordeal was so bad that Samsung’s chief reportedly became so angry that they ordered the mobile division to rethink its future plans. Yikes!

That story might actually be true, as the Samsung Galaxy Buds4 series features an almost complete design overhaul, while the features and specs have been slightly tweaked to match the 2026 standard.

So, what’s changed exactly? Let’s take a more detailed look:

Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Series Overview

Now, I have already tied a whole backstory about the design and the controversy it got Samsung into. So, here we see the earbuds being redesigned. Gone are the edgy triangular stems, and in come almost cuboid-like stems, which, to me, look a bit like the clip on a pen cap.

The case from last gen is what looked a bit too much like AirPods. I remember seeing a video where someone put AirPods into the Galaxy Buds3 case — and they fit! This time, the charging case also sees a redesign, or rather, a return to the older design.

Samsung is back to the pre-Buds3 horizontal layout, which it had been using for years before the Buds3. So, it genuinely feels like a coming-home moment. They’ve kept the transparent lid from the Buds3, though, which I don’t mind at all.

Both the standard Buds4 and the Pro model feature the same design changes, but where they differ is in their fits. The regular Galaxy Buds4 have a semi-in-ear fit, while the Pro model has a full in-ear fit and comes with three sizes of silicone tips. Likewise, the Pro variant retains its IP57 rating, while the regular Galaxy Buds4 has dipped to IP54 from IP57 on the Buds3.

The internals have also seen some changes, specifically on the standard Galaxy Buds4. These earbuds now feature 11mm drivers, which are nearly double the size of the previous generation. The Pro model, on the other hand, still features a dual driver system with a woofer (dynamic driver) and a tweeter. Samsung says the system has been “enhanced”, but exactly in what way is unknown.

The Bluetooth on the newer buds has been updated to v6.1 from v5.4, while the battery life remains unchanged. Most of what we saw on the Buds3 series is back, too — Adaptive ANC, 360 Audio with Head Tracking, 24bit/96kHz SSC-UHQ codec, Auracast, Super Wideband Call, and Galaxy AI support.

The Buds4 series also picks a couple of new tricks, like Volume EQ and Head Gestures. The two variants aren’t all that different in terms of features. The main distinction between the two models is ANC — the Pro has better real-time processing for more precise noise cancellation across any environment, while the standard Buds4 makes do with Adaptive ANC 1.0, which runs on pre-trained algorithms for everyday use.

Looking at the price of the Samsung Galaxy Buds4 series, these aren’t earbuds most Nepali buyers will buy on a fluke. But if you want the absolute flagship audio experience with Samsung magic tossed in, this is it. More so, if you’re already in the Samsung ecosystem.

And honestly, the design change alone feels like a win. Samsung has taken a lot of heat recently for borrowing a little too much from Apple’s playbook, so returning to its own roots with the familiar horizontal case is a good look.

Personally, I would have loved to see the return of the bean/stemless design, but those tend to come at the cost of good microphone performance. Longer stems generally do a better job with call quality, so I’m willing to trade the cleaner look.
