Honor X7c Overview
Design
The Honor X7c brings a fresh look with a faux leather back, replacing the glossy plastic finish of its predecessor, the X7b. This new material enhances both the style and in-hand feel of the device, even though the frame itself is plastic.
On the right side of the Honor X7c, you’ll find the volume rocker and power button, which doubles as a fingerprint scanner. The bottom edge houses the primary speaker, headphone jack, and USB Type-C port. The left side features the SIM card tray, while the top has an IR blaster and a microphone.
The phone also features dual speakers: a primary speaker at the bottom and an ear speaker above the display. With the 300% high-volume mode activated, it enhances sound for ringtones, calls, media, and navigation. However, this feature does not support headphone playback or Bluetooth output. Actual performance may vary depending on usage conditions, as claimed by HONOR.
The phone is IP64-rated for water and dust resistance, allowing it to handle minor splashes and exposure to dust without issue. In lab conditions, Honor reports that it can withstand being submerged up to 0.25 meters for 3 minutes or up to 0.5 meters for 1 minute.
Adding to its durability, the X7c has an SGS-certified chassis for added drop and impact resistance, while the display is protected by tempered glass.
The device comes in three color options: Midnight Black, Forest Green, and Moonlight White, appealing to a variety of style preferences.
Display
On the display front, the Honor X7c features a 6.77-inch TFT LCD panel with the selfie camera placed in a hole-punch cutout. It has a peak brightness of 850 nits, making it bright enough for most lighting conditions, and can go as low as 2 nits in dim environments to reduce eye strain.
With a 20:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 720 x 1610 pixels, the screen has a pixel density of 261 ppi. While this is sufficient for everyday use, some users may find it lacking in sharpness compared to higher-resolution displays in the same price range.
Hardware
The Honor X7c is powered by the Snapdragon 685 SoC. While it is a decent budget processor, it falls short in gaming performance compared to other processors in its price range.
The chipset features four performance Cortex-A73 cores clocked at 2.8GHz and four efficiency Cortex-A53 cores at 1.9GHz, paired with the Adreno 610 GPU for handling graphics.
The device offers up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, with RAM Turbo, a software feature that virtually expands the RAM using up to 8GB of onboard storage, enhancing multitasking and overall performance.
Camera
Despite its slight squircle hump on the rear, the camera setup on the Honor X7c is a step down from its predecessor, the X7b, which featured a triple-camera system.
The X7c features a dual-camera setup, including a primary 108MP sensor paired with a 2MP depth sensor, capable of recording 1080p video at 30fps.
For selfies and video calls, the phone is equipped with an 8MP front camera, which also supports 1080p video recording at 30fps.
Battery and OS
The device derives its power from a 6000mAh Li-Po battery, with support for 35-watt fast charging over a USB-C 2.0 port.
It runs on Magic OS 8, based on Android 14, offering features like One Tap Access and Three Finger Swipe Down for easier navigation and multitasking.
