Design

The Phantom Buds 2 don’t follow the crowd as they come in a rectangular case with an open-top design and a bold uni-metal finish that instantly stands out. Thanks to the full-metal build, the case feels solid and premium, though it’s also noticeably heavy. You’ll definitely feel it if you’re carrying it around.

Now, about that open-top design, it might seem like a risk. But the buds slide in and out smoothly, and the magnets are strong enough to keep them secure, even with a few shakes.

The earbuds themselves are in-ear with silicone tips. What’s really cool is the semi-transparent plastic housing that gives you a peek at the internal drivers and components.

As for durability, the buds come with an IPX5 rating, which means they’re splash and sweat-resistant.

The Phantom Buds 2 come in just one color, black, but with that slick metal finish, it really doesn’t need anything else.

Audio and Other Features

The Kick Phantom Buds X pack in 13mm dynamic drivers, delivering a well-balanced sound with what Kick calls their “Signature Sound.”

For noise cancellation, Kick claims the Buds X offer up to 37dB of Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), which is pretty solid for the price point. And on top of that, you also get Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC) for calls, made possible by a quad-mic setup.

The earbuds support both SBC and AAC codecs, so whether you’re using Android or iOS, you’re covered for decent audio quality.

Touch controls? Check. Voice assistant support? Yep. And for the gamers out there, there’s a dedicated gaming mode with ultra-low latency of just 40ms.

Connectivity & Battery

The Phantom Buds X come equipped with Bluetooth v5.4, offering a stable, low-latency connection with a range of up to 10 meters.

Now, while Kick hasn’t officially revealed the exact battery capacities of the buds or the charging case, they’ve claimed you’ll get up to 6 hours of playback on a single charge, and a whopping 70 hours total with the case.

Moreover, thanks to Spark Charge Technology, just 10 minutes of charging gives you 120 minutes of playtime.
