I don’t know how much of a hit Blackberry was in Nepal. Nepal’s market was almost entirely captured by Nokia when Blackberry was raging in the world. Blackberry was a big deal internationally. Nearly all businessmen and businesswomen used this as their preferred handheld device for its comfortable keyboard and fluid performance.
But like Nokia, Blackberry is not the most successful brand today. However, it still manufactures some phones of its own. Among them, Blackberry launched the Blackberry Key2 this past November, and now it has launched the Blackberry Evolve.
Blackberry store Nepal has priced Blackberry Evolve at Rs. 32,800. Blackberry Evolve is a normal smartphone. This means, it doesn’t have the physical keyboard that Blackberry is famous for. If you are a fan of a physical keyboard, you should look at the Key2.
Blackberry Evolve was conceptualized, designed, manufactured, and launched in India. Notable features of the device include a large six-inch Full HD+ 18:9 aspect ratio LCD screen with 500 nits of peak brightness, a massive 4000mAh battery, and Blackberry’s amazing build quality. Though the build quality is good, the design won’t woo anyone. It is an 18:9 aspect ratio display but the top and bottom bezels are huge and the phone is too large for a 6 inch screen.
Inside, this phone is powered by a Snapdragon 450 processor which is combined with 4GB RAM. This processor is alright for normal calling and texting and all. Apps like Facebook and YouTube will run smoothly but it won’t give you a good gaming experience; at least the gaming experience won’t be comparable to similarly priced handsets like the Xiaomi Mi A2.

Blackberry Evolve Price in Nepal: Rs. 32,800
Evolve packs 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 256GB using a micro SD card. For the cameras, the BlackBerry Evolve has a 13-megapixel (f/2.0) + 13-megapixel (f/2.0) dual shooters on the back while the phone has a 16-megapixel shooter for your selfies. As Blackberry’s flagship phones like the Key2 have been known to have not that good of a camera, I don’t recommend buying this phone if camera is the most important aspect in a phone for you.
Other than these core features, what sets the Evolve apart from a sea of other smartphones is the security features that come built into this phone. There are apps like Blackberry password keeper that helps you store your password safely and create new secure ones in a jiffy.
There’s a privacy shade feature that turns all the screen black except the portion of the screen you want to read to stop others from peeping on your personal data. There is also a very secure disk encryption system on by default that will protect your data if your phone gets lost or stolen. If you are very concerned about your privacy, then this phone is the one for you.
