Intel Employee Service Corps (IESC) will be sending a team of around 5-7 people to Nepal this week to improve access to technology here.
The team will stay until the last week of May working on setting up educational PCs and providing training software to the people.
The Details:
- Their team is partnering with Hands in Outreach for this project. They will be visiting three schools in and around Kathmandu.
- They have plans to set up Waterford Early Learning (WEL) application at two primary schools (Lalitpur Madhyamik Vidyalaya and Bijeswori Higher Secondary School) and train the staff and students there.
- Also, they plan to convert an existing standalone Waterford deployment at a third school to a new cloud services architecture.
The Backstory:
- The Intel Employee Service Corps (IESC) is Intel’s flagship international skills-based volunteering program.
- IESC has been sending teams to developing countries around the world to set up and deploy technology, including in countries such as Nepal, Rwanda, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Nigeria, and India.
