Choosing the best laptop for you within your budget can be exhausting. The options are virtually endless, but not all of them provide the best value. To help you buy the best laptop, we have listed the best laptops under 70000 in Nepal.

The laptops within this budget are suitable for students and home users who do not require high performance. You may even use these laptops for basic office work.

On laptops under 70000 in Nepal, you can expect acceptable performance for light tasks and decent build quality. But you should not expect much when it comes to the display quality. Nevertheless, it should be just fine for normal work and media consumption.

Laptops in Nepal under 70000 are mostly the same laptop models as laptops under 90000 in Nepal but with lower-end CPUs and a few other minor drawbacks.

Before we jump into the list of the best laptops under 70000 in Nepal, let’s first go through the things that we should consider when looking for laptops in Nepal under 70000.

Prices May Vary

It’s worth noting that in the past, TechLekh has only listed products from authorised distributors. However, because authorised distributors do not always bring the desired products to Nepal — and even when they do, the prices are outrageous — we have decided to include laptops from unregulated stores as well.

This has its own set of benefits and drawbacks. The benefit is that it is usually less expensive to purchase. You can also purchase laptops that are not officially available in Nepal. However, there is a risk of receiving refurbished products and poor after-sales service. And the prices may also vary.

Therefore, if available, we still suggest you buy from authorised stores only.

Choosing a Laptop Under 70000 in Nepal

When you know what to look for in a laptop, choosing the right laptop for your needs becomes much easier. To help with that, I’ve briefly covered what processors you may expect, along with RAM, storage, and more, considering the price and your requirements.

CPU

We all have heard that the CPU, or central processing unit, is the brain of a computer. It is responsible for processing all the tasks the computer has to do. So, a good CPU is a must for the good performance of the laptop.

In a laptop under 70000 in Nepal, it is common to have an Intel Core i3 11th Gen. If you’re going with AMD, the AMD Ryzen 3 4000 series is what you should look for, if not newer series.

How to know the generation of the processor? If it’s an Intel, you should keep an eye on the numbers following Intel’s brand modifier. Intel’s brand modifiers are i3, i5, i7, and i9.

For example, the Intel Core i5 7200U processor is the 7th gen CPU as the brand modifier “i5” is followed by the number “7”. 12th Gen CPUs are the latest generation of Intel.

Similarly, for AMD processors, by looking at the number at the beginning of the suffix of the CPU name, you can tell what series it is. For example, Ryzen 3 4300U indicates that it belongs to the 4000 series because the number 4 followed the name Ryzen 3.

RAM

8GB of RAM should be more than enough for a user of these laptops. If the laptop comes with only 4GB of RAM, add an extra 4GB of RAM and make it 8. If the budget does not allow it, you should at least buy a laptop that has an option to upgrade the RAM.

Storage

When it comes to storage, avoid the HDD (hard disk drive) and always get the one with an SSD, which stands for a solid-state drive.

When compared to SSD, a laptop that is booted from an HDD is very slow. Some laptops support both HDD and SSD, which is even better. In those laptops, you can install the OS on the SSD and save your personal data on HDD.

Display

An IPS LCD is a much better type of display compared to TN panels. But unfortunately, display on laptops at around this price is not going to be their selling points.

At least get a Full HD display (1920 x 1080 pixels) though. Any lower resolution on a laptop will appear soft. And, if you intend to travel a lot with your laptop, getting a smaller laptop may be beneficial. Generally, 14- and 15-inch laptops are popular.

Battery Life

The battery life of the laptop is also something you should look out for. A laptop with a good battery life allows you to use your laptop comfortably for a longer period of time without having to plug it in.

Best Laptops Under 70000 in Nepal

The laptops under 70000 in Nepal are suitable for light users. It is suitable for students, or home users. The performance of these laptops is just enough for basic multitasking.

Having said that, the performance of today’s laptop at around this price range is far better than what we had a few years ago. The new generations of CPUs are faster than ever, and almost all laptop comes with an SSD.

For browsing, light office work, and media consumption, these laptops are adequate. You may also play games on low settings and do light photo editing, but expect some stutters and lag here and there.
