#1. Skoda Superb

Although a lesser known car in Nepali Market, the Skoda Superb is no less of a special car. Known as the ‘Poor Man’s S-Class’, this is the flagship model from the Czech manufacturer that has made it’s way in Nepal after a very long time. It’s competition in Nepal? None. The Toyota Camry or the Honda Accord haven’t made their way into the Nepali Market, and the Volkswagen Passat is long discontinued. But, the 2.0 Litre Diesel Sedan sits in a tricky segment in terms of it’s price point. Because you can buy a top end Volkswagen Tiguan or even little higher to the imposing Toyota Fortuner or the Ford Endeavour. How will it fare? We have to wait.

#2. Maruti Suzuki Dzire

Known for it’s ultra dependability and value for money, the Swift Dzire was one of the most successful cars the Maruti Suzuki ever made. For the new version, they have decided to drop the name ‘Swift’ and give the name ‘Dzire’ which it always deserved. Starting price expected to be around 28 Lakhs and going against the likes of Hyundai i10/i20, Ford Figo Aspire and even the Volkswagen POLO, the Dzire is sure to attract a lot of first-time buyers.

#3. Maruti Suzuki Ignis

This awkward looking hatchback is called the ‘Ignis’ and comes from the largest Indian manufacturer ‘Maruti Suzuki’. Finally, Maruti has ditched the ‘safe and conventional’ philosophy and brought us a funky looking small car that’s a blend of retro and cool. The Oversized LED headlamps, Upright Instance and host of cool features certainly make this thing an interesting proposition. But, price starting at around 28 lakhs, you can buy its sibling Dzire or the Grand i10. Is the Ignis worth the money?

#5. Volkswagen Tiguan 2017

The Tiguan is not a new name in Nepal. In recent times, the number of Tiguan rolling in the Nepalese roads is increasing at an alarming rate. The Mid-Size SUV from Volkswagen gets an excellent build quality, latest tech, and a restrained German styling. It finally looks like the all time segment leader Hyundai Tucson has lagged behind the Tiguan in recent times and the trend only looks like grow over time. This car is neither as sleek as the Hyundai nor as imposing as the Toyota Fortuner or Ford Endeavour, but it has worked perfectly fine till now and with new better iteration, it looks like it is right on point.

#6. Tata Hexa

Who doesn’t want to be in a big, braggy SUV?  Talk about road presence, the new Tata Hexa hits the nail right on its head. The Big dual color bumper, black front grill gives the Hexa a muscular feel that brings the first notion of power that the SUV brings to the table. The 200 mm ground clearance and 19-inch alloys along with a powerful 2.2 liter diesel engine make it suitable for any road conditions and rough terrains you wish to conquer. The Competition is fierce though, with Mahindra XUV 500 with it’s attractive looks and a host of features and Toyota Innova Crysta looming behind with a powerful brand tag.

#7. Datsun Regi-GO

The Datsun Redi-GO is one of the entry level cars available in the Nepali Market. Going against the likes of the Hyundai EON, Maruti Suzuki Alto and the new sensation Renault KWID, this small little hatch can be a market setter for Datsun in Nepal who are yet to place a foot stable in the segment. Starting price around 19.5 lakhs, this car certainly targets the middle-car and young first-time buyers who dream of driving a car. Dastun has definitely upped their game from the GO and Go+ and the Redi-GO has a serious potential to establish itself as one of the best entry level cars on the market.

#8. Honda CIVIC

Those who have heard the name ‘CIVIC’ know that it has always been a looker. But, this latest iteration knocks the ball right out of the park. The aggressively designed chrome plated grill, the LED projector headlamps, Coupe shaped roof line and the C-shaped tail lamps just represent true sophistication and class. Everything in this car screams sportiness blended with usability. Starting at around 75 lakhs, this goes against the Skoda Octavia or even the Hyundai Tucson and Volkswagen Tiguan. And, unless the ‘Mustang’ drives on the road in Nepal, this is the sexiest thing on the Nepalese roads for the time being.

Hona Civic Price in Nepal: Rs. 75 Lakhs

#9. Nissan Micra

Although known for their build quality and trust, Nissan has never hit the Nepali market as well as it should have been. It might be because they didn’t have enough entry level cars, until now. The mid-size hatchback, all-new Micra is set to hit the Nepali market and what a stage to launch it. Starting price being around 24 lakhs rupees, this car goes against the segment leader Hyundai i10 and Ford Figo. In a conventional Nepali market, can this small hatch from Nissan break the dominance? We have to wait a little longer.

#10. Volkswagen Amarok

A new name, the recently launched new Pick Up truck from the German manufacturer is going to be the Volkswagen’s focal point. They have added a new premium pick up truck in the Nepali market.  Starting price being around 80 Lakhs, the new 2-liter engine Pick Up truck will go against the likes of the segment king Toyota Hilux and Ford Ranger. How will it fare, we have to see.
