Apart from the talk programs and presentations, the organizers plan to conduct a workshop on RESTful API. A RESTful API is an application program interface referred to as a RESTful web service based on representational state transfer (REST) technology. It is an architectural style and approach to communications often used in web services development.

Based on the feedback of attendees, this year the WordCamp Kathmandu is taking a slightly different approach on the meeting session. The event will be more like an Interview-style session. The questions from attendees are highly welcomed.

Also, the organizers have decided to conduct a “Success Story” session where successful people will be sharing their journey in WordPress.

For this year Roshan Bhattarai, CEO of Proshore, will be sharing his journey, challenges, and venture of his life.

The organizers believe this session will definitely boost the interest of the attendees. Also, Arjun Singh Thakuri, a Tech Entrepreneur from Kathmandu and the lead organizer, believes WordCamps’ have been successful in promoting WordPress in Nepal over the past six years.

“Many small, mid and large-sized companies are using WordPress for their website. About 90% of popular online news websites are made in WordPress in Nepal. Yet, we still have challenges to make Government bodies trust and use WordPress.” – says Mr. Arjun.

On 2014, 2015, and 2016 the number of attendees was 180, 250 and 275 respectively. The organizers expect more than 300 attendees this year.
