Design

Infinix Hot 9 Play has a plastic back and a plastic frame similar to the Hot 9 and Hot 9 Pro. It uses a glossy finish on the back. The Hot 9 Play uses a trending rectangular camera module on the back flanked by a fingerprint sensor.

On the front, it uses a waterdrop notch. So, it has minimum bezels all around.

Display

Infinix Hot 9 Play has a 6.8 inches IPS LCD display. It’s an HD+ panel with a screen resolution of 720 * 1640 pixels and has a ~82.4% screen-to-body ratio.

Hot 9 Play has a bigger display than Hot 9 and Hot 9 Pro. And, they call it the cinematic display.

Hardware

Underneath, the Hot 9 Play is powered by MediaTek Helio A22 chipset on the 2/32GB variant whereas it uses Mediatek Helio A25 chipset on the 4/64GB variant.

Helio A22 is built-in 12nm process and has a Quad-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU and PowerVR GE8300 GPU. Helio A25 is also built-in 12nm process but it has Octa-core (4×1.8 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4×1.5 GHz Cortex-A53) CPU and PowerVR GE8320 GPU.

Helio A22 is a budget chipset that will provide decent performance for general tasks but it won’t play games. It’s an entry-level chipset that has a GPU from PowerVR. The GPU is clocked at 600 MHz whereas the CPU is clocked at 2.0GHz. Helio A25 is a better chipset that has an octa-core CPU and has slightly better GPU.

Camera

Infinix Hot 9 Play has a dual-camera setup with a 13MP main sensor and a QVGA low light sensor. The phone comes with a LED Flash as well and supports video up to 1080p@30fps.

Infinix Hot 9 Play looks good with a decent design. It has a huge display and looks like a good entry-level budget phone. Its 2/32GB variant has Helio A22 which is not as good when it comes to processing power but the 4/64GB variant has Helio A25 which decent for the price.
