Huawei Y8p Launched: Price in Nepal, Specs, Features

After a quiet launch of the Huawei P40 Pro, Huawei has launched Huawei Y8p in Nepal. It comes as an upgrade of the Huawei Y7p which is already available in Nepal.

Huawei Y8p price in Nepal is Rs. 26,990 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM variant. It is available to purchase in Breathing Crystal color on daraz.

Huawei Y8p brings some upgrades on the Y7p as it comes with an OLED screen. So, let’s see what else it has got!

Huawei Y8p Overview

Design

Huawei Y8p has curved edges on the back and the rear panel holds a triple camera setup. It comes in Breathing Crystal color which has a gradient finish with the white, blue, sky, and purple color gradient.

On the front, it has a dewdrop notch and an under-display fingerprint sensor.

Display

One of the big changes comes in terms of display. Huawei Y8p brings an OLED display in a mid-range phone.

It has a 6.3 inches FHD+ OLED display with a screen resolution of 2400 X 1080 pixels. This time they have gone with a notch instead of a hole punch which was seen on the Y7p. The bezels and chin look quite similar to that of the Huawei Y7p.

Hardware

Sadly, there’s no upgrade in terms of hardware. It is still using the Kirin 710F chipset which was also used on the Huawei Y7p and lots of older Huawei phones.

Latest Mobile Prices

Kirin 710F chipset comes with an Octa-core (4×2.2 GHz Cortex-A73 & 4×1.7 GHz Cortex-A53) CPU and Mali-G51 MP4 GPU. Along with this, it comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM.

Kirin 710F’s performance is equivalent to the Snapdragon 660. By the current standard, the chipset is too old and is nowhere near the competitors. The 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM are quite good though.

Camera

Huawei Y8p has a triple camera setup on the rear with a 48MP main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor. Huawei Y8p is running the same camera setup as the older Y7p.

On the front, it comes with an upgraded 16MP sensor compared to 8MP on the Y7p. The rear camera and front camera are capable of shooting 1080p videos at 30fps.

Battery

Huawei Y8p is powered by a 4000 mAh battery along with 10W charging. The battery is decent and it will last a day but the lack of fast charging is very surprising.

Furthermore, it is running on EMUI 10.1 on top of Android 10. It doesn’t support Goole Play services.

Huawei Y8p price in Nepal is Rs. 26,990 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM variant. It comes in a single color: Breathing Crystal and is available to purchase via daraz.

Huawei Y8p is an upgrade to the Y7p that brings an OLED screen, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and a slightly changed design. Instead of the hole-punch, they are now using a dew-drop notch. Previously, the Y7p had an HD screen whereas the Y8p has an FHD screen. Except for these, it is still using the same chipset and same camera setup as the Huaewi Y7p.

It is a good upgrade to the Y7p and there are not many phones with FHD+ OLED screen at this price tag. However, an older chipset and lack of GMS is its Achilles heel.
